Sexual dimorphism of the frequency of significant correlations between selected characteristics of body trunk and feet in young people aged 14 to 18 years

open access: yesJournal of Education, Health and Sport, 2017
Introduction. Sexual dimorphism in children aged 4 to 6 years, which concerns the number of characteristics of body trunk with significant correlations with the characteristics of feet and differentiating female from male individuals, is greater, with ...

A Survey of Interlayer Interaction Models for Graphene and Other 2D Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Van der Waals interactions arising from electronic polarization at atomically close interfaces generate corrugated interlayer energy landscapes that govern normal and tangential tractions. This review presents an overview of quantum, atomistic, analytical, and continuum modeling approaches, highlighting their roles across length scales in capturing ...

The incidence of significant relationships between selected parameters of feet and parameters of trunk in children aged 4, 5 and 6 years

open access: yesJournal of Education, Health and Sport, 2018
Introduction. The evolution of information technology has resulted in development of normative ranges with regard to the parameters of human body posture which led to further research of their mutual impact, relationships and concomitance.

The Immediate Effects of Vibrotexture Shoe Insoles on Quiet Standing Balance and Lower Limb Muscle Activity in Healthy Young Adults

open access: yesJournal of Foot and Ankle Research
Introduction Shoe insoles that provide a single source of plantar sensory stimulus, such as texture or vibration, can improve measures of standing balance. Vibrotexture insoles, designed to provide multiple sources of sensory stimuli, may provide greater

Sexual dimorphism in significant correlations frequency between the characteristics of body trunk and feet in children aged 4 to 6 years

open access: yesCentral European Journal of Sport Sciences and Medicine, 2019
Relatively few publications have concerned characteristics of body trunk and feet. It is generally suggested that correlations exist between the characteristics of the developing foot and the spinal column.

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Bamboo Medical Application: A State‐of‐the‐Art Review

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review presents a structured classification of bamboo's current use in healthcare. It organizes applications into medical textiles and medical devices, with further divisions based on function and level of invasiveness. It also examines material utilization based on bamboo's structural role, highlighting how it supports both protective and ...

Flexible Pressure Sensor With Co‐Optimized Sensitivity and Linearity Based on Gradient Toroidal Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A flexible piezoresistive pressure sensor with gradient toroidal CNT/PDMS microstructures is reported. The hierarchical geometry enables sequential electrode contact, achieving a sensitivity of 256.20 kPa−1 and linear response (R2 = 0.99) over 0–1000 kPa.
