Broadband Low‐RCS Linearly Polarized Metasurface–Based Antenna

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
In this paper, a broadband linearly polarized (LP) metasurface (MS)–based antenna with low radar cross section (RCS) over a wideband is proposed. The radiation and scattering mechanisms of the antenna are analyzed under the guidance of characteristic mode analysis (CMA).

Rough surface RCS measurements and simulations using the Physical Optics Approximation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
International audienceThe objective of this article is to develop innovative approaches to obtain analytical expressions of the Radar Cross Section (RCS) of perfectly-conducting random rough surfaces under the Physical Optics (PO) approximation.

Compact Wideband Folded Dipole Antenna With a Parasitic Dipole

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
A wideband folded dipole antenna with stable radiation patterns and a compact size is proposed. A folded bowtie dipole and a reflector with two vertical metal plates are applied to achieve compact dimensions. By introducing a parasitic dipole orthogonal to the folded bowtie dipole and a cylindrical substrate placed on these two dipoles, the impedance ...

Frequency‐diverse aperture imaging using an open cavity with a rough base

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 18, Issue 12, Page 1139-1147, December 2024.
Single‐shot computational microwave imaging of a target is obtained using a frequency‐diverse aperture. Radiation from a conducting rough reflector, illuminated by an ultra‐wideband antenna provides random patterns. To obtain spatially uncorrelated near‐field scans, four conducting walls are placed around the rough surface.

A broadband stable addition theorem for the two dimensional MLFMA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Integral equations arising from the time-harmonic Maxwell equations contain the Green function of the Helmholtz equation as the integration kernel. The structure of this Green function has allowed the development of so-called fast multipole methods (FMMs)

Far field reconstruction of antennas via single‐surface phaseless spherical near‐field scans: A novel approach based on dipole equivalence

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 60, Issue 20, October 2024.
A novel approach is proposed in this letter to reconstruct the far‐field radiation pattern from the phaseless electric field of an antenna scanned on a single near‐field sphere. It adopts the dipole equivalence approach and introduces a term representing the error from the linearly correlated portion in the least‐square problem, namely the linear ...

Phase-only Synthesis Algorithm for Transmitarrays and Dielectric Lenses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this work a phase-only synthesis algorithm is applied for the design of lens-array antennas yielding a desired radiation pattern. The potential relevance of spillover effect on the lens radiation pattern is illustrated, making it necessary to include ...

Propagation Characteristics and Magnetic Field Distribution of Rotating Magnet-Based Mechanical Antenna in the Air-Seawater-Seabed Three-Layer Medium

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation
Aiming at the application requirements of underwater cross-domain communication, based on the equivalent relationship between the rotating permanent magnet and the orthogonal time-varying current loop, this paper establishes an air-seawater-seabed three ...

Measurement and simulation of reflector antenna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Well-established procedures are consolidated to determine the associated measurement uncertainty for a given antenna and measurements scenario [1-2]. Similar criteria for establishing uncertainties in numerical modelling of the same antenna are still to ...

Differents Aspects of the Interferences Caused By Wind Farms Over Tv Signals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
One of the environmental effects of wind farms is that wind turbines act as scattering devices of the electromagnetic RF waves and thus, may cause interferences to different telecommunication services around them.
