Additive Manufacturing of Broadband Dielectric Resonator Antennas Using Graded Permittivity and Modal Analysis

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 62, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This study enhances the bandwidth of dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs) by introducing a linearly graded permittivity profile. Characteristic Mode Analysis reveals that this approach broadens the modal distribution and extends the dominant resonant mode bandwidth.

Investigating Equations Used to Design a Very Small Normal-Mode Helical Antenna in Free Space

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2018
A normal-mode helical antenna (NMHA) has been applied in some small devices such as tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) and radio frequency identification (RFID) tags.

Harmonic grounding impedance of rods in horizontally stratified soils using ABCD-matrix approach

open access: yese-Prime: Advances in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Energy, 2023
Grounding electrodes play a fundamental role in the operation of power systems. In this context, precise computation of grounding impedance must consider the frequency-dependence of the soil parameters and the ground organized in stratified layers of ...

GPR Antenna Modelling Based on DML Exploiting Cosine Similarity Metric

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
The proposed SNN‐KNN‐GPR framework. ABSTRACT Traditional full‐wave electromagnetic simulation software, such as HFSS or CST, requires substantial computational resources and time consumption, as does the construction of surrogate models when acquiring new samples. To overcome this data efficiency challenge, we propose a Data Augmentation (DA) modelling

Novel numerical analysis of electric fields in the near field of very‐low‐frequency antennas based on the charge simulation method

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation
Very‐low‐frequency (VLF) transmitting antennas have a crucial influence on the nearby electromagnetic environment. Commercial software packages, such as CST Studio Suite (CST) or Altair FEKO (FEKO), are always utilised to calculate the electric fields of

Open‐Set Recognition of Radar One‐Dimensional Range Profiles Based on Attention Mechanism and Multi‐Task Joint Training

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
To address the issues in radar automatic target recognition (RATR) based on high‐resolution range profiles (HRRP)—specifically, the inability of closed‐set methods to handle unknown categories and the limitation of conventional open‐set methods that can only reject unknown categories without further subdivision—this paper proposes the MHA–CoST open‐set

An Accelerated Hybrid Method for Electromagnetic Scattering of a Composite Target–Ground Model and Its Spotlight SAR Image

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
In this paper, an accelerated hybrid method of physical optics (PO) shooting and bouncing ray (SBR)–physical theory of diffraction (PTD) is proposed to deal with the electromagnetic scattering of a complex target on rough ground.
