An Improved Crayfish Algorithm‐Based Neural Network Method for Modeling Microstrip Patch Antennas
Artificial neural networks (ANNs) have shown remarkable advantages in antenna modeling and optimization as surrogate models. However, in single‐objective modeling, the convergence accuracy of ANN‐based antenna models is often insufficient. This paper proposes an improved crayfish optimization algorithm (ICOA) to optimize the initial weights and biases ...

Singly-fed shaped planar inverted-F antenna for circular polarization [PDF]
© 2016 IEEE. We propose a singly-fed planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA), with double-shorting planes and a tapered patch for radiating circular polarization. FEKO® simulations are employed to optimize the geometry of the antenna.

Compact Wideband Folded Dipole Antenna With a Parasitic Dipole
A wideband folded dipole antenna with stable radiation patterns and a compact size is proposed. A folded bowtie dipole and a reflector with two vertical metal plates are applied to achieve compact dimensions. By introducing a parasitic dipole orthogonal to the folded bowtie dipole and a cylindrical substrate placed on these two dipoles, the impedance ...

Variable-fidelity optimization of microwave filters using co-kriging and trust regions [PDF]
In this paper, a variable-fidelity optimization methodology for simulation-driven design optimization of filters is presented. We exploit electromagnetic (EM) simulations of different accuracy.

Combined Field Integral Equation Based Theory of Characteristic Mode [PDF]
Conventional electric field integral equation based theory is susceptible to the spurious internal resonance problem when the characteristic modes of closed perfectly conducting objects are computed iteratively. In this paper, we present a combined field

Frequency‐diverse aperture imaging using an open cavity with a rough base
Single‐shot computational microwave imaging of a target is obtained using a frequency‐diverse aperture. Radiation from a conducting rough reflector, illuminated by an ultra‐wideband antenna provides random patterns. To obtain spatially uncorrelated near‐field scans, four conducting walls are placed around the rough surface.

GLRT‐based detection of targets composed of distributed scattering centres
A new method is presented to distinguish between the distributed and centralised scattering centres which is helpful in automatic target recognition. Experimental results demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm which is superior to existing methods.
