Electrostatic K-Feldspar/Na-Feldspar and Feldspar/Quartz Separation: Influence of Feldspar Composition

open access: yesMineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review, 2012
This article aims at contributing to the possibility of electrically separating K-feldspar/Na-feldspar and quartz/feldspar, investigating the behavior of mixtures composed of K-feldspar, Na-feldspar, and quartz concentrates. The findings highlight the importance of preheating the material and of interparticle contact. Tests conducted on binary mixtures

Feldspar in Chondrites

Science, 1965
Whereas most chondrites contain sodic plagioclase (or occasionally maskelynite, its glassy equivalent), a few are free of feldspar. Absence of plagioclase is correlated with the presence of calcium-poor clinopyroxene (pigeonite sensu lato ) instead of orthopyroxene.

Mechanics of the Feldspar Framework; Crystal Structure of Li-Feldspar

Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 1996
Abstract The crystal structure of LiAlSi3O8was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction, with 813 observed structure factors, refined toR1 = 0.079. Li-feldspar has the smallest unit cell volume of any feldspar with known crystal structure. Comparison of LiAlSi3O8with various alkali feldspars, including the most open structure of RbAlSi3O8 ...
