Importância das espécies minerais no potássio total da fração argila de solos do Triângulo Mineiro Importance of mineral species in total potassium content of clay fraction in soils of the Triângulo Mineiro, Minas Gerais State, Brazil

Exploring wave propagation behaviors in rock: A grain‐based perspective on mineral structures

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study investigates wave propagation in rock at the grain scale using a grain‐based model, revealing that mineral elastic modulus significantly influences wave attenuation while grain size and distribution have limited effects. A novel peak particle velocity attenuation prediction model is proposed and validated for grain‐scale wave propagation ...

The complexity of sediment recycling as revealed by common Pb isotopes in K-feldspar

open access: yesGeoscience Frontiers, 2018
Detrital zircon U–Pb geochronology has become the gold standard in evaluating source to sink relationships in sedimentary basins. However, the physical and chemical robustness of zircon, which make it such a useful mineral for provenance studies, is also

Semi‐analytical solution for the stability of deep vertical shaft considering time‐dependent rock‐structure interaction

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
A novel cavity contraction solution and multilayer shaft wall model were developed to analyze deep shaft stability, considering rock viscosity, support structures, and water pressure, with successful validation through a Hulusu Coal Mine case study.

A rock brittleness index based on the postpeak energy release rate and damage surface characteristics for brittle hard rock

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study examines energy evolution in rock rupture via triaxial direct shear tests, exploring the impact of confining pressure and temperature on fracture surface randomness. A novel energy‐based brittleness index is proposed, validated experimentally, and compared with existing methods for reliability and accuracy.
