Cancer of the cervix is by far the commonest tumour of Ugandan women. The incidence is high in all parts of Uganda. Patients present late in the course of the disease and therapy is often impossible at this stage. Carcinoma of the corpus uteri is an uncommon tumour and often shows unusual histological patterns.

Malignant melanoma of the female genitalia

Fifteen women with genital malignant melanoma were studied. Their ages ranged from 19 to 66 years (mean 49.1 years); 12 were white, and three were black. The sites of involvement were the mons pubis (one patient), perineal body (one), labium majus (three), labium minus (three), and vagina (seven).
