Follicular growth monitoring in the female cat during estrus
Theriogenology, 2011Follicular growth in the feline ovary is usually detected indirectly, through behavior observation, vaginal smears, or more invasively, by estradiol assay in blood. This study was designed to describe follicular dynamics by transabdominal ultrasonography. Secondly, the stage of follicular growth was associated to behavioral and vaginal changes. Ovarian

Ambulatory monitoring and conventional cystometry in asymptomatic female volunteers
BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 1996Objective Ambulatory monitoring continues to gain acceptance and increasing clinical application. There remains, however, a sparsity of published data from asymptomatic Volunteers, particulary women. Monitoring Considerations for the Female Athlete

Prenatal monitoring for the Hunter syndrome: The heterozygous female fetus
Clinical Genetics, 1979An abnormal level of 35S‐sulfate labeled mucopolysaccharides was found in cultured amniotic fluid cells from a pregnancy, at risk for the Hunter syndrome, with a female fetal karyotype. Subsequent prenatal analyses suggested heterozygosity for the X‐linked Hunter syndrome, and this was confirmed by clonal analysis of fibroblasts of the child after ...

Female but not male young heavy drinkers display altered performance monitoring
Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging, 2015Difficulties in monitoring ongoing behaviour may be linked to real-life problematic drinking behaviours. Prior research suggests female heavy drinkers in particular display greater cognitive control deficits. Here, we examine trial-to-trial behavioural adaptations in a conflict monitoring task, relative to drinking behaviour and sex.

However, evidence associating low parental monitoring with greater odds of becoming pregnant has not been reported. The objective of this study was to prospectively assess the relationship of low perceived parental monitoring with incidence of

Fecal endocrine monitoring of reproduction in female snow leopards (Uncia uncia)
Theriogenology, 2014Although the snow leopard (Uncia uncia) is a common endangered felid species in zoos, little is known about the complex endocrine interactions controlling ovarian function and conception in this species. The goal of this work was to characterize ovarian activity throughout the estrous cycle, nonpregnant luteal phase (pseudopregnancy), and gestation in ...

Emotions in everyday life: an ambulatory monitoring study with female students
Biological Psychology, 2005Additional heart rate as an indicator of emotional arousal was monitored throughout the day with a special ambulatory device. Fifty female students received acoustic feedback every 10-20 min. The feedback was based either on events (additional heart rate present) or was random without additional heart rate.
