Disgust is a natural disease-avoidance emotion experienced as an aversive feeling towards something subjectively offensive. In human sexuality, disgust plays an adaptive role, which consists of avoiding sexual behaviors that potentially lead to harm, such as transmission of diseases, unfavorable mate choices, or social exclusion.
