At Long Last: The Recognition of Intersectional Discrimination at the ECtHR in FM v Russia
On 10 December 2024, the European Court of Human Rights recognised intersectional discrimination for the first time in FM v Russia. It did so not only by naming ‘intersectional discrimination’ explicitly, but also by engaging with the concept and the particular harm or disadvantage occasioned by such discrimination, substantively.
