Osteonecrosis of Femoral Head Occurred after Stent Placement of Femoral Artery

open access: yesCase Reports in Orthopedics, 2014
We present a case of osteonecrosis of femoral head (ONFH) that occurred after stent angiography of femoral artery for the treatment of arteriosclerosis obliterans (ASO) of left inferior limb in a 76-year-old woman.

Experience of vascular injuries at a military hospital in Korea [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Trauma and Injury
Purpose Vascular injuries require immediate surgical treatment with standard vascular techniques. We aimed to identify pitfalls in vascular surgery for trauma team optimization and to suggest recommendations for trauma and vascular surgeons.

Anatomic variability of branches of iliac and femoral arteries in human fetuses [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of the Balkan Medical Union, 2019
Introduction. The anatomy of the gluteal and anterior femoral regions is characterized by considerable age and individual variability of the muscles and neurovascular formations, which is a rather common cause of complications during surgical ...

Improved arteriogenesis with simultaneous skeletal muscle repair in ischemic tissue by SCL plus multipotent adult progenitor cell clones from peripheral blood [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Background: The CD34- murine stem cell line RM26 cloned from peripheral blood mononuclear cells has been shown to generate hematopoietic progeny in lethally irradiated animals.

Microendovascular Neural Recording from Cortical and Deep Vessels with High Precision and Minimal Invasiveness

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Intravascular electroencephalography (ivEEG) using micro‐intravascular electrodes was developed. Cortical‐vein ivEEG showed a higher signal‐to‐noise ratio and finer spatial resolution of somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) than superior sagittal sinus ivEEG, and deep‐vein ivEEG captured clear visual evoked potentials.

Identification of the initial molecular changes in response to circulating angiogenic cells-mediated therapy in critical limb ischemia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
BackgroundCritical limb ischemia (CLI) constitutes the most aggressive form of peripheral arterial occlusive disease, characterized by the blockade of arteries supplying blood to the lower extremities, significantly diminishing oxygen and nutrient supply.

Microrobotic Catheterization of the Ophthalmic Artery for Targeted Treatment of Retinoblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A microrobotic platform is presented that allows teleoperated and autonomous navigation of flow‐driven magnetic microcatheters, MagFlow, into the ophthalmic artery for superselective intra‐arterial infusion of chemotherapy to treat retinoblastoma. Extensive benchtop validations with patient‐derived biomimetic phantoms under optical and fluoroscopic ...

Lateral circumflex femoral artery pseudoaneurysm following transfemoral coronary intervention

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Scientific Research
Post-femoral access arterial injuries are well-known entities with attendant complications involving common femoral, superficial femoral and profunda femoris arteries, and rarely, pelvic vessel injuries were described.

Assessment of the Optimal Site of Femoral Artery Puncture and Angiographic Anatomical Study of the Common Femoral Artery

open access: yesJournal of Korean Neurosurgical Society, 2014
Objective The purpose of this study was to evaluate demographic and clinical factors affecting the common femoral artery diameter and length, and anatomical relationship between the femoral head and the common femoral artery during angiography.
