Impaired Hyperemic Response to Exercise Post Stroke [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015

Radial versus femoral access for rotational atherectomy: A UK observational study of 8622 patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background—Rotational atherectomy (RA) is an important interventional tool for heavily calcified coronary lesions. We compared the early clinical outcomes in patients undergoing RA using radial or femoral access.

Aneurysms of the femoral artery

open access: yesJournal of British Surgery, 1977
Summary Eight aneurysms of the femoral artery out of a total of 27 in 16 patients developed symptoms requiring surgery. The operation of choice was Dacron prosthetic replacement of the aneurysm with preservation of profunda femoris perfusion. The incidence of complications of aneurysms was 30 per cent.

Cadaveric Study of Profunda Femoris Artery with Some Unique Variations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2015
Background: Profunda femoris artery is the largest branch of femoral artery and chief supply of the thigh. It is useful for various clinical procedures like arteriography, ultrasonography and Doppler imaging and haemodialysis.

Early Detection of Post-Endarterectomy Complication by Point-of-Care Ultrasound

open access: yesReports, 2021
Endarterectomy is an effective intervention to remove the atheromatous plaque in the inner lining of the artery, aiming to revascularize the occluded/stenosed vessel in patients with peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD).

Femoral Artery Atherosclerosis Is Associated With Physical Function Across the Spectrum of the Ankle-Brachial Index: The San Diego Population Study. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
BackgroundThe ankle-brachial index (ABI) is inadequate to detect early-stage atherosclerotic disease, when interventions to prevent functional decline may be the most effective.

A study of anomalous origin of medial circumflex femoral artery and its significance

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Scientific Research, 2019
Background: Femoral artery, a branch of external iliac artery, is the blood supply to the anterior compartment of the thigh. Its branch, medial circumflex femoral artery (MCFA), supplies the head and neck of femur, adductor muscles and the acetabular pad

Blackcurrant Alters Physiological Responses and Femoral Artery Diameter during Sustained Isometric Contraction

open access: yesNutrients, 2017
Blackcurrant is rich in anthocyanins that may affect exercise-induced physiological responses. We examined tissue oxygen saturation, muscle activity, cardiovascular responses and femoral artery diameter during a submaximal sustained isometric contraction.

Successful limb salvage beyond the golden time following blunt traumatic open complete transection of the femoral artery and vein in a patient with cardiac arrest: a case report

open access: yesSurgical Case Reports, 2021
Background Open complete transection of the femoral artery and vein following blunt trauma is extremely rare. Furthermore, even if the patient has been successfully resuscitated, it is sometimes difficult in most patients to preserve the injured limb ...
