Bamboo‐Like Whiskers‐Reinforced Bioceramics Accelerate Large Segmental Bone Regeneration via Dual Modulation of Type‐H Vessels and Osteoinduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract image of bamboo‐like whisker‐reinforced Ca‐P bioceramics accelerating large segmental bone regeneration. ABSTRACT Regenerative repair of segmental bone defect remains a major clinical challenge. The conventional mental implants suffer from mechanical strength mismatch and long‐term foreign bodies presence.

Handlebar injury to femoral vein: case report and review

open access: yes, 2011
Handlebar injury varies from minor trauma to life-threatening visceral and vascular damage resulting in a significant morbidity among children. Femoral vein injuries secondary to handlebar trauma are rare but potentially serious.

A rare case of anatomical variation of the femoral artery and vein

open access: yes, 2020
During a dissection of the two femoral trigons in a female corpse, about 14 years old, we discovered on the right side, the deep artery of the thigh arising from the medial side of the femoral artery and passed in front of the femoral vein above the ...

Prmt6 Deficiency or Inhibition Restores Microglial Homeostasis and Promotes Scar‐Limited Repair in Adult Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
After spinal cord injury, adult microglia remain persistently activated with chronic PRMT6 (protein arginine methyltransferase 6) upregulation. Prmt6 deficiency or inhibition reestablishes microglial homeostasis and promotes a scar‐limited repairment, enhancing axonal regrowth.

Resolution of a femoral arteriovenous fistula secondary to chronic Iliac vein occlusion after stenting: a case report

open access: yesBMC Surgery
Background Acquired femoral arteriovenous fistula (FAVF) secondary to chronic iliac vein occlusion is rare and often underdiagnosed. The optimal management remains controversial.

Ultrasound in evaluation of post-interventional femoral vein obstruction: a case report

open access: yesCardiovascular Ultrasound, 2009
Ultrasound is the preferred imaging modality in diagnosis of vascular complications following cardiac catheterization and intervention. In some cases, however, bleeding surrounding the femoral vessels, may severely distort the color Doppler images ...

Biomimetic Bone Marrow Monocyte Membrane‐Fused Extracellular Vesicles for Targeted Therapy of Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a biomimetic delivery system (M‐hEV) by fusing monocyte membranes with extracellular vesicles for targeted therapy of damaged cardiac tissue. The system homes to injured myocardium through specific molecular pathways. In a myocardial infarction model, M‐hEV effectively accumulates in the heart, reduces infarct size, alleviates ...

Predictors of the need for supportive femoral approach during transvenous extraction of pacemaker and defibrillator leads in Japanese patients

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, 2020
Background Studies on femoral approach during transvenous lead extraction (TLE) are limited. Methods We retrospectively evaluated 75 patients undergoing TLE from September 2014 through November 2019 via supportive femoral approach (Femoral/Superior group;

Light‐Switched Mesenchymal Stem Cells for In Situ Exosome Amplification in Craniofacial Bone Defect Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Light‐switchable MSCs (MSC‐UCNPs) were constructed by intracellular incorporation of UCNPs. Upon 980 nm irradiation, UCNPs emitted localized ultraviolet light (365 nm), activating the ROS/HEXB/LAMP1 signaling pathway to suppress lysosome–multivesicular body fusion and thereby enhance exosome biogenesis. Embedded within an injectable hydrogel, MSC‐UCNPs

Experience of vascular injuries at a military hospital in Korea [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Trauma and Injury
Purpose Vascular injuries require immediate surgical treatment with standard vascular techniques. We aimed to identify pitfalls in vascular surgery for trauma team optimization and to suggest recommendations for trauma and vascular surgeons.
