Visible femtosecond fiber laser
Optics Letters, 2023Femtosecond fiber lasers have revolutionized the industry of laser technology by providing ultrashort pulses of high brightness through compact, affordable, and reliable setups. In this work, we extend the scope of application of such sources by reporting, to our knowledge, the first femtosecond fiber laser operating in the visible spectrum.

The concept of femtosecond laser speckles is put forward. The theory of a speckle pattern in light of finite bandwidth is applied to describe femtosecond laser speckles. Basic representations of the contrast and the spectral correlation of femtosecond laser speckles are presented.

The benefits and drawbacks of femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery
European Journal of Ophthalmology, 2020Introduction: Since the introduction, femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery was believed to revolutionize cataract surgery. However, the judgment of clinical benefit was found to be far more complex than initially might have been thought.

Ultrafast Phenomena, 1994
Recent advances in mode-locked solid-state lasers have resulted in pulses as short as 8.5 fs in the 800 nm region from Ti:sapphire oscillators [1]. Using similar techniques, sub-50 fs pulses [2-4] have been generated in another solid-state laser system, Cr:forsterite, which operates in the 1.2 to 1.3 μm range.

Superresolved femtosecond laser ablation
Optics Letters, 2007The determinist behavior of the femtosecond ablation process allows morphing features well under the diffraction limit by utilizing the thresholding effect, down to the nanometer scale. Because there are a vast range of applications where scaling down the size of the features is a major concern, we investigate the use of superresolving pupil plane ...
