Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Keratoplasty
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2011T a ( w r B u r HE ACCURACY AND PREDICTABILITY OF FEMTOSECond lasers not only provides new treatment options, but also increases clinical outcomes in refractive rocedures and corneal transplantations. The most imporant advantage of femtosecond laser technology is the bility to create vertical and lamellar corneal incisions ith a limitless variety of ...

The bandwidth of most excimer lasers allows the amplification of subpicosecond pulses. In this paper a novel method and experimental arrangement is reported for the generation of femtosecond pulses in the XeF, XeC1 and KrF laser wavelengths. This is based on the use of a hybrid excimer-dye laser arrangement, incorporating a twin tube excimer laser and ...

Ultrabroadband femtosecond lasers
IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1994The exploitation of soliton-like pulse shaping mechanisms and the optimization of phase dispersion in broadband self-modelocked solid state laser oscillators have led to unprecedented advances in ultrafast laser technology. This paper reviews the basic physical mechanisms governing pulse formation and addresses the requirements for optimum performance ...

Technical Digest. Summaries of Papers Presented at the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics. Conference Edition. 1998 Technical Digest Series, Vol.6 (IEEE Cat. No.98CH36178), 1998
Summary form only given. The use of femtosecond lasers allows materials processing of practically any material with extremely high precision and minimal collateral damage. Advantages over conventional laser machining (using pulses longer than a few tens of picoseconds) are realized by depositing the laser energy into the electrons of the material on a ...
