The Organization and Role During Locomotion of the Proximal Musculature of the Cricket Foreleg : I. Anatomy and Innervation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
The structure of the proximal segments of the cricket (Gryllus bimaculatus) foreleg, together with the associated musculature and its innervation are described.

The effect of high dose antibiotic impregnated cement on rate of surgical site infection after hip hemiarthroplasty for fractured neck of femur : a protocol for a double-blind quasi randomised controlled trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background: Mortality following hip hemiarthroplasty is in the range of 10-40% in the first year, with much attributed to post-operative complications.

Targeting Itga8 Mitigates Neurogenic Bladder Fibrosis Driven by Trem2⁺ Macrophage‐Derived Fn1 via FAK/RhoA/ROCK Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Normal bladders exhibit quiescent fibroblasts/macrophages, whereas neurogenic bladders show acute‐phase Itga8⁺ fibroblast expansion driven by Trem2⁺ macrophage‐secreted Fn1, which activates FAK/RhoA/ROCK signaling, promotes cytoskeletal remodeling, and upregulates pro‐fibrotic genes.

The Effect of Cement Placement on Augmentation of the Osteoporotic Proximal Femur

open access: yesGeriatric Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation, 2010
Femoroplasty, the augmentation of the proximal femur, has been shown in biomechanical studies to increase the energy required to produce a fracture and therefore may reduce the risk of such injuries.

Experimental study and practice on the detection of vegetative planktons in the bone marrow of the drowned dead body [PDF]

open access: yes, 1959
Experiment on the animals proved that in the case of the death by drowning planktons always immigrate into the bone marrow and some kinds of them can be detected in the bone marrow even after a long period of time, suggesting that the detection of these ...

LMO7 Suppresses Tumor‐Associated Macrophage Phagocytosis of Tumor Cells Through Degradation of LRP1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LMO7 in tumor‐associated macrophages suppresses phagocytosis of tumor cells and limits cytotoxic T lymphocytes infiltration, fostering tumor progression. Mechanistically, LMO7 mediates the ubiquitination and degradation of the phagocytic receptor LRP1, impairing its ability to engulf tumor cells and driving macrophages toward an antitumor phenotype ...

Development of a test system to analyze different hip fracture osteosyntheses under simulated walking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The mechanical complications of osteosyntheses after hip fractures are previously investigated by mostly static or dynamic uniaxial loading test systems.

Multiscale 3D Whole Joint Cellular and Molecular Mapping Reveals Disease‐Specific Neurovascular Plasticity Underlying the Structure‐Pain Relationship

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents MUSIC, a novel immunostaining and clearing method coupled with large‐field light sheet microscopy, enabling 3D high‐resolution cellular and molecular mapping of intact musculoskeletal joints across species and joint types. Using joint degenerative and injury models, disease‐specific neurovascular alterations are uncovered, revealing

Variation of Proximal Femoral Morphometry in Relation to Total Hip Replacement: A Study on Dry Femora

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Medical Research, 2021
Objective: Objective: Considerable variations exist in geometry of proximal femur across populations, which play an important role in total hip replacement surgeries. However, a rigorous characterization of femoral geometry across different geographical
