Seizures Causing Simultaneous Bilateral Neck of Femur Fractures

open access: yesCase Reports in Orthopedics, 2019
Neck of femur fractures are a ubiquitous injury seen by orthopaedic surgeons. In the elderly, these fractures usually occur after a low energy fall, and are invariably unilateral injuries.

Fractures of the Neck of the Femur in Children [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 1962
A study of a collected series of femoral neck fractures in seventy-one children observed for one to nineteen years shows: 1. This injury is rare but occurs in children of all ages from three to sixteen years old. 2. The fractures may be classified as transepiphysial, transcervical (the commonest), basal and pertrochanteric. Displacement was frequent.

Ipsilateral fracture neck and shaft of femur: A prospective analysis of two methods

open access: yesJournal of Orthopedics, Traumatology and Rehabilitation, 2017
Background: Optimum management of ipsilateral fracture neck and shaft of femur is controversial and lacks general consensus. Both fractures should be treated with implants that optimize fracture healing while minimizing complications.

Miss-a-nail Technique of Femur Neck Fracture with Femur Interlocking Nail in Situ: A Technical Description

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Case Reports
Introduction: The neck of the femur fracture is more prevalent in the elderly, but can occur in young individuals due to high-energy trauma. Management of neck femur fracture with the femur interlocking nail in situ is a technically demanding case.

Subtrochanteric fracture after femoral neck system of femoral neck fractures: a report of four cases

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2023
Background The femoral neck system (FNS) is commonly used for internal fixation of femoral neck fractures and has shown promising results. However, we have observed cases of peri-implant subtrochanteric femur fractures associated with the use of FNS at ...

Comparison of Preoperative Computed Tomography and Intraoperative Estimation in Predicting the Version of a Single‐Wedge Femoral Stem

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, 2022
Objective Early prediction of stem version aids in optimization of combined version during total hip arthroplasty (THA). This study aimed to analyze the discrepancy between stem version and native femoral version measured by different methods, and to ...
