Evaluating Multi‐Model and Multi‐Metric Approaches to Low‐Flow Simulation in Irish Catchments
Daily streamflow from 125 catchments was simulated using 47 conceptual models available in MARRMoT framework. The models were calibrated using two objective functions (log NSE and inverse KGE) focusing low flows. Model performances and choice of objective function were assessed against 18 catchment characteristics. ABSTRACT Climate change has increased

Linear Reservoir Behaviour Across Large Spatial Scales
The fundamental role of percolation processes in recession curves is reflected in an increase of relaxation times to a quasi‐universal time scale. The increase in relevance of the linear recession model with increasing spatial scales emerges naturally from the percolation result relating cluster surface to cluster area (or perimeter to surface ...

An Egyptian wand at Ugarit: circulation, negotiation, and meaning

Event‐Type‐Based Multi‐Dimensional Diagnostics of Process Limitations in Hydrological Models
Abstract Aggregated evaluation metrics and overlooked hydrological process variability in individual streamflow events hinder understanding of how well hydrological processes are encoded in models. This study introduces a novel event‐type‐based multi‐dimensional diagnostic framework to enhance model performance assessment and to identify process ...

ABSTRACT Hydrologic science lacks a comprehensive theory of stormflow generation, preventing the development of a general hydrologic model. Studies show that models focusing on dominant local processes often outperform general models that rely on parameter tuning, leading to higher confidence solutions.

Calibration procedure selection should be carefully considered in data‐scarce circumstances, as good model efficiency does not necessarily guarantee a realistic representation of hydrological processes. Stable isotopes proved effective in validating model results and detecting shortcomings in the J2000 model caused by sparse hydroclimatic data and the ...
