Clinical Features of Cellular Senescence Pathways in Severe Asthma

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
In bronchial biopsies, SASP and p53 pathway enrichment scores are elevated in severe asthma versus non‐severe asthma and healthy controls. SASP enrichment is validated in the independent NOVA cohort. SASP enrichment is also elevated in nasal brushings of participants with nasal polyps, independently of asthma status.

Differences of FENO in adult general populations of Nordic regions

open access: yes, 2019
Background: Eventual differences of expiratory nitric oxide (FENO) levels in general populations of Nordic countries may reflect differences in eosinophilic inflammation at population level.Aim: To study the differences in FENO of Nordic regions and ...

Digestibilidade aparente dos nutrientes da dieta contendo feno de grama-estrela (Cynodon nlemfuensis Vanderyst) tratado com uréia = Apparent digestibility of nutrients of diet containing stargrass (Cynodon nlemfuensis Vanderyst) hay treated with urea

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Animal Sciences, 2007

Deficiency of Mitochondrial Fatty Acid Enzyme, CPT1A, Underlies Airway Epithelial Barrier Dysfunction in Severe Asthma

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial fatty acid enzyme, CPT1A, is deficient in the airway epithelium of severe asthma patients. Restoration of CPT1A expression improved epithelial barrier integrity via increasing mitochondrial respiration and ATP production in airway epithelial cells. Restoration of deficient epithelial CPT1A may represent a new treatment approach for severe

Longer Asthma Duration Is Associated With Elevated Non‐T2 Sputum Biomarkers and Reduced T2 Inflammation in Severe Asthma

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Longer asthma duration is associated with increased airway non‐T2 inflammation and reduced airway and systemic T2 inflammation. Sputum CXCL9 is independently associated with duration and may predict a reduced poor response to anti‐IL‐4Rα therapy. Airway sampling and combined T2 and non‐T2 targeted strategies may be needed in long‐standing asthma. CXCL9,
