Fenobucarb induces heart failure and cerebral hemorrhage in zebrafish

Aquatic Toxicology, 2019
The potential risk and toxic mechanisms of fenobucarb (2-sec-butylphenyl methylcarbamate, BPMC) to animals and humans have not been fully elucidated. In this study, zebrafish embryos were exposed to various concentrations of BPMC from 48 hpf (hour post fertilization, hpf) to 72 hpf.

Systemic Stereoselectivity Study of Fenobucarb: Environmental Behaviors in Greenhouse Vegetables, Fruits, Earthworms, and Soils and Its Cytotoxicity

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2022
Fenobucarb (2-sec-butylphenyl methylcarbamate, BPMC) is a potent carbamate pesticide with high insecticidal activity. In this study, the enantioselective accumulation of BPMC in earthworms (Eisenia foetida) and dissipation in cabbage, Chinese cabbage, strawberry, and soils were investigated.

Isolation and characterization of fenobucarb-degrading bacteria from rice paddy soils

Biodegradation, 2013
Forty-five fenobucarb-degrading bacteria were isolated from rice paddy soils, and their genetic and phenotypic characteristics were investigated. The isolates were able to utilize fenobucarb as a sole source of carbon and energy. Analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence indicated that all the isolates were related to members of the genera Sphingobium and

Biodegradation of Chlorothalonil, Fenobucarb and Methidathion in Nakdong River, South Korea

Asian Journal of Water, Environment and Pollution, 2015
The study was to evaluate the biodegradability of three pesticides in river water, Korea. The biodegradation tests for three pesticides, chlorothalonil, fenobucarb and methidathion, were performed on two rivers, Nakdong River and Kumho River, in Korea according to the modified river die-away method.

Annual concentration variations in the atmosphere, and estimated inhalation intake of fenitrothion and fenobucarb

Chemosphere, 1992
Two pesticides, fenitrothion and fenobucarb, were frequently detected in the atmosphere during May through September and during June through September, respectively. Daily intake of these pesticides by inhalation were estimated throughout the year.

Response of the subterranean termite Coptotermes formosanus (Isoptera: Rhinotermitidae) to soil treated with microencapsulated fenobucarb

Pest Management Science, 2007
AbstractBACKGROUND: Treating soil with insecticides is thought to be an effective method for termite control. Speed of action and repellency of insecticides are important factors for discussing their barrier effects as soil‐treatment termiticides. The chemical barrier effect of microencapsulated fenobucarb against Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki was ...

Quantifying fenobucarb residue levels in beef muscles using liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry and QuEChERS sample preparation

Food Chemistry, 2013
This paper describes a comparison of the properties of the three versions of the QuEChERS method (quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged and safe) - the original (unbuffered), acetate-buffered, and citrate-buffered methods - for the determination of fenobucarb residues in beef muscles via liquid chromatography-electrospray ionisation tandem mass ...

Glutathione-S-transferase-catalyzed reaction of glutathione for electrochemical biosensing of temephos, fenobucarb and dimethoate

Analytical Methods, 2017
This study describes a sensitive bio-electrochemical detection method for extensively used toxic organothiophosphate pesticides temephos and dimethoate, and organocarbamate fenobucarb, by employing a simple mediatorless cyclic voltammetric technique.

Rapid and Sensitive Determinations of Carbaryl, Carbofuran and Fenobucarb by Liquid Chromatography with Electrochemical Detection

Journal of Liquid Chromatography & Related Technologies, 1996
A rapid and sensitive procedure is described for the determination of the N-methylcarbamates pesticides, carbaryl, carbofuran and fenobucarb, by liquid chromatography. The pesticides are previously hydrolyzed, in a separate step, to their phenolic derivatives, which, after the separation in a high speed column in a time lower than 2.5 min, are detected

Nano carbon black-based screen printed sensor for carbofuran, isoprocarb, carbaryl and fenobucarb detection: application to grain samples

Talanta, 2018
An electrochemical screening assay for the detection of phenyl carbamates (i.e. carbaryl, carbofuran, isoprocarb and fenobucarb) was developed and applied to grains samples (i.e. durum wheat, soft wheat and maize). Nano carbon black (CB) was strategically employed to realize an effective, reproducible, fouling resistant, low cost, delocalisable screen ...
