The Vegan Villain Sets Out to The End of Summer: Functionalized Coatings as Biohybrid UV‐Sensors
This study introduces biohybrid coatings incorporating E. coli biomass expressing photoconvertible fluorescent proteins as UV‐A responsive elements. Upon irradiation at 400 nm, the coatings exhibit an irreversible fluorescence shift from green to red within 15 min. Notably, the photoconversion capability is retained after >1 year of storage.

This study analyses the uncertainty and variability existing in the economic performance of polylactic acid (PLA) production, via integrating techno‐economic analysis with process models and Monte Carlo simulation enabled by artificial intelligence. The results show that the minimum selling price varies from $2,107 to $3076/t PLA.

Fermented Liquid Feed: The potential for eliminating enteropathogens from feed
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of temperature on the survival of Salmonella and E. coli in fermented liquid pig feed (FLF). Liquid feed, fermented with Lactobacillus plantarum, was challenged with Salmonella or E. coli (six serovars of each) at 20, 30 or 37 C. Temperature significantly affected the survival of Salmonella and E. coli.
