Superlattices, Bonding-Antibonding, Fermi Surface Nesting, and Superconductivity
Raman and synchrotron THz absorption spectral measurements on MgB2 provide experimental evidence for electron orbital superlattices. In earlier work, we have detected THz spectra that show superlattice absorption peaks with low wavenumbers, for which ...

Gyrotropic Magnetic Effect and the Magnetic Moment on the Fermi Surface. [PDF]
The current density j^{B} induced in a clean metal by a slowly-varying magnetic field B is formulated as the low-frequency limit of natural optical activity, or natural gyrotropy.

In this study, a novel facet‐junction strategy is proposed to enhance the strong metal‐support interaction (SMSI) between the loaded Ru atoms and the Co3O4 support. The synthesized structure with the incorporation of Ru doping and the (100)/(111) crystal plane junction has a particular influence on the catalyst's hydrogen evolution reaction (HER ...

Non-Fermi Liquids as Ersatz Fermi Liquids: General Constraints on Compressible Metals
A system with charge conservation and lattice translation symmetry has a well-defined filling ν, which is a real number representing the average charge per unit cell.

Gradient Catastrophe and Fermi Edge Resonances in Fermi Gas [PDF]
A smooth spatial disturbance of the Fermi surface in a Fermi gas inevitably becomes sharp. This phenomenon, called {\it the gradient catastrophe}, causes the breakdown of a Fermi sea to disconnected parts with multiple Fermi points. We study how the gradient catastrophe effects probing the Fermi system via a Fermi edge singularity measurement.

Very recently the topological Weyl semimetal (WSM) state was predicted in the noncentrosymmetric compounds TaAs, TaP, NbAs, and NbP and soon led to photoemission and transport experiments to verify the presumed topological properties such as Fermi arcs ...

Large magnetoresistance and Fermi surface topology of PrSb [PDF]
We report magnetotransport measurements of PrSb in high magnetic fields. Our results show that PrSb exhibits large magnetoresistance at low temperatures.

Quantum Oscillations, Thermoelectric Coefficients, and the Fermi Surface of Semimetallic WTe2. [PDF]
We present a study of angle-resolved quantum oscillations of electric and thermoelectric transport coefficients in semimetallic WTe2, which has the particularity of displaying a large B(2) magnetoresistance.
