Bridging Sustainability and Innovation in Family Firms: The Roles of Local Green Knowledge and Local Embeddedness

open access: yesJournal of Product Innovation Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article explores how family firms leverage environmental investments to drive innovation, proposing that their environmental efforts are more conducive to innovation compared to non‐family firms. We also propose that family firms' ability to transform environmental investments into superior innovation performance is particularly ...

Evolutionary legacies structure the geography of seagrass traits across the world's oceans

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Traits modulate species' ability to track shifts in climate, yet the extent to which traits have been shaped by the contemporary environment and/or historical processes remains poorly understood. Here, we fill this gap for the world's seagrasses, habitat‐forming species that provide critical ecosystem services.

Microclimate drives demographic compensation in a narrow endemic tropical species

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Demographic compensation occurs when reductions in some vital rates are offset by increases in others, allowing populations to maintain similar performance across varying environments. This mechanism may help explain species' ecological distributions and range limits, yet its role at microenvironmental scales remains poorly understood.

Antimicrobial Envelopes for Cardiac Device Infection Prevention: A Meta‐Analysis of Randomized and Matched Studies

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED)‐associated infections are a significant procedural complication. Antibacterial envelopes have emerged as a potential strategy to mitigate this risk, though the evidence regarding their prognostic benefit remains inconclusive.

‘I'm willing to walk into violence’: The impact of personal trauma on staff compassion in secure services

open access: yesPsychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Current evidence on the impact of personal trauma on health care professionals is mixed. Some studies suggest a personal history of trauma can be a risk factor for secondary traumatisation. Other research suggests that personal experiences of trauma can help professionals to better recognise their patients' trauma symptoms.

Genome‐Wide Association Study Elucidates the Genetic Architecture of Manganese Tolerance in Brassica napus

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Brassica napus (canola) is a significant contributor to the world's oil production and is cultivated across continents, yet acidic soils with aluminium (Al3+) and manganese (Mn2+) toxicities limit its production. The genetic determinants underlying natural variation for acidic soil tolerance in canola are unknown and need to be determined ...
