Cooperative Effect of Co and Fe Promotes the OER Activity of CoFe2O4(100) and (001) surfaces

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 1, 15 January 2026.
A comprehensive first‐principles study of the OER activity of the inverse spinel CoFe2O4${\rm CoFe}_2{\rm O}_4$ renders the lowest overpotential (0.20 V) for octahedral cobalt in the A‐layer of the (100) surface. This is ascribed to a bulk‐like oxidation state of surface cations and an unusual bonding configuration of *OOH with participation of ...

Metamorphosis of Multilayered‐(NH4)2V7O16 Squares to Zinc Vanadate and w‐ZnO Nanoparticles via Zinc Metalation through Atomic Layer Deposition: Precision and Sustainability in Material Transformation

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 1, January 2026.
Vapor phase metalation (VPM) enables Angstrom‐scale functionalization of (NH4)2V7O16 nanostructures using diethylzinc. This solvent‐free, gas‐phase method induces structural and magnetic transformations, aligning with circular economy goals. VPM enhances material properties for spintronics, neuromorphic computing, biomagnetism, and sustainable ...

Porous Carbon Coated Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 Ferrite Embedded in the Interlayer of Mxene Material to Enhance Electromagnetic Wave Absorption Performance

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2026.
By using solvent‐thermal and electrostatic self‐assembly to coat porous carbon with Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 and embed it between MXene layers, the Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4@C/Ti3C2Tx composite material was produced. Its porous structure optimizes impedance matching and interface polarization, achieving a reflection loss of −63.25 dB at 17.32 GHz.

Compositional Optimizations and Magnetic Performances of CoxFe3−xO4$${\mathrm{Co}}_x{\mathrm{Fe}}_{3-x}{\mathrm O}_4$$ Nanoclusters

open access: yesChemNanoMat, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2026.
This study reports the synthesis and compositional tuning of CoxFe3−xO4 nanoclusters (x = 0.6–1.4) via a controlled combustion route. Single‐domain particles exhibited systematically increasing coercivity and anisotropy with cobalt content. Peak saturation magnetization occurred at x = 1.2, while zero‐field cooling and field‐cooling and blocking ...
