Structurally Complex Precipitates Enhance Strength‐Ductility Synergy in a Duplex Medium Entropy Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Strong‐yet‐ductile precipitation‐hardening alloys require novel microstructural complexity of precipitates in particularly at cryogenic condition, to constantly impart strain hardening of hard‐and‐brittle precipitates. The present work creates innovative structurally complex precipitates assembled with dispersed nanocores and a chemical‐heterogeneity ...

Ferritas Ni-Zn: breve revisão sobre o processo convencional de fabricação e as propriedades permeabilidade magnética e constante dielétrica Ni-Zn ferrites: brief review on the conventional method of fabrication and the magnetic permeability and dielectric constant properties

Lattice Distortion‐Driven Metal Exsolution in Perovskite Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study elucidates the mechanism of lattice distortion‐driven exsolution through a combination of computational simulations and experimental approaches. Lattice distortion facilitates the formation of oxygen vacancies and subsequent metal segregation, thereby enhancing the exsolution behavior.

Preparation and microwave absorbing properties in the X-band of natural ferrites from iron sands by high energy milling

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2018
Bulk natural ferrites based in iron sands were synthesized at room temperature by high energy ball milling. The reduced particle sizes of the ferrites were milled at 100 rpm at selected time intervals of 0, 2, 4, and 6 h. The as-milled products were then

Field‐Frustrated Cooperative Distortions: Suppressing Jahn‐Teller Ordering via Microwave Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microwave annealing decouples local Jahn‐Teller distortions from long‐range cooperative ordering in CuFe2O4, stabilizing a metastable cubic phase that remains locally distorted yet globally symmetry‐frustrated. Synchrotron XRD, PDF, XPS, and in situ thermal cycling reveal how non‐equilibrium MW‐phonon interactions suppress cooperative orbital‐lattice ...

Study of magnetic properties of NiZnCu ferrite synthesized by Pechini method and solid-state reactions

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
Ni-Zn-Cu ferrites are exhibiting excellent magnetic properties at large frequencies and are consequently produced as low-loss magnetic materials used for magnetic components in power electronics.

Unlocking Strength‐Toughness Dilemma in High‐Entropy Borides by Intragranular Microstructural Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An extreme non‐equilibrium process combining heavy direct current sintering and TiSi2 addition is used to construct intragranular energy dissipation units within high‐entropy boride ceramics to overcome the strength‐toughness trade‐off. The resulting ceramic demonstrates attractive mechanical properties with a flexural strength of 887 MPa and a ...

Surface‐Spin‐Induced Magnetic Loss Enhancement in Ultralight Electromagnetic Absorbers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fe3O4 nanoparticles with different hollow rates were synthesized to demonstrate the key role of surface moment in magnetic loss process. Using the same volume filling ratio, the 54.1% hollow Fe3O4 absorber represents about 20% enhancement in the imaginary part (μ'') than solid particles due to the coexisting magnetic resonance of inside and outside ...

Gyromagnetic Resonance in Ferrites [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1947
Magnetic ferrites of great homogeneity have been prepared in this Laboratory. In these ferrites the tangent of the loss angle between B and H is found to rise at a certain frequency fairly suddenly from values less than 1 per cent to values much exceeding unity.

Graphene Aerogels With Spherical Pore Structure for Broad Frequency Regulation and Enhanced Low‐Frequency Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A graphene aerogel with a spherical‐pore structure is constructed via microbubble templating. This unique architecture suppresses strain‐induced percolation of conductive networks, enabling dynamic frequency tuning. It also delivers enhanced low‐frequency absorption with an effective absorption bandwidth of 2.56 GHz, covering 91% of the low‐frequency ...
