The Use of Secondary Metallurgy Slag as Soil Corrective in Agriculture: Approval of Their Application in Italy

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 96, Issue 1, January 2025.
Secondary metallurgy slag (SMS) complies with the specifications for manufacturing fertilizers, soil improvers and liming materials, and sanitization of sewage sludges. A batch of SMS is investigated from all the aspects needed for the preparation of the application for approval by the Ministry of Agriculture of a new slag‐based soil corrective.

Thermodynamic and Experimental Analysis of the Selective Reduction of Iron by Hydrogen from the Kergetas Iron–Manganese Ore

open access: yesMetals
Thermodynamic modeling combined with experimental reduction tests was conducted to investigate the selective reduction behavior of iron-manganese ore using hydrogen gas at 800–900 °C. The results reveal that hydrogen reduction at a flow rate of 0.5 L/min

Eco‐Sustainable Use of Industrial Wastes as Cement‐Partial Alternate in Concrete Composition

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
This study explores an innovative approach to enhancing the eco‐sustainability of concrete by incorporating industrial byproducts—cement kiln dust (CKD), silica fume (SF), steel slag (SS), and coal ash (CA)—as partial cement replacements. Unlike conventional studies that focus on single waste materials, this research uniquely evaluates the combined ...

Preparation of Semi‐Coke‐Based Porous Graphitic Carbon–Iron Oxide Composites and Their Electrochemical Performance for Rhodamine B Degradation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
In response to the demand for clean production and high value‐added utilization of waste semi‐coke (SC) powder, SC‐based porous graphitic carbon–iron oxide (SPC‐Fe) composites were synthesized using a one‐step method with K2FeO4. The synthesis process primarily depends on the mass ratio of SC to K2FeO4 and the calcination temperature.
