Ferrocene compounds. XXXVIII. Dimethyl ferrocene-1,1′-dicarboxylate

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2003
In the title compound, [Fe(C(7)H(7)O(2))(2)], the cyclopentadienyl rings and the two attached methoxycarbonyl groups, in an anti arrangement, form an extended pi-conjugated system. The Fe-C distances range from 2.035 (3) to 2.061 (3) A and the average value of the C-C bond lengths in the two cyclopentadienyl rings is 1.419 (5) A.

Confinement effects of a crystalline sponge on ferrocene and ferrocene carboxaldehyde

Chemical Communications, 2017
The confinement effects of a crystalline sponge on organometallic sandwich compounds are investigated, in which a network of weak non-covalent interactions effectively dictate guest inclusion behaviour and motional dynamics.

Ferrocene-containing polymers. A reinvestigation of the polyrecombination of ferrocene

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1966
Abstract Earlier work by Korshak and other Russian authors on the preparation of polyferrocenylenes by the recombination reaction of ferrocene in the presence of tert-butyl peroxide has been reinvestigated. It has been demonstrated that, under carefully controlled conditions at temperatures near 200°, ferrocene can indeed be polymerized to give ...

Hybrid of Ferrocene and Fullerene

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2002
"Bucky ferrocenes", molecular hybrids of ferrocene and fullerene, have been synthesized in good yield on gram scale by treatment of C(60)HMe(5) or C(70)HMe(3) with [FeCp(CO)(2)](2) and their structures studied with physical methods including X-ray crystallography.

Rigid ferrocene–ferrocene dimer as a common building block in the crystal structures of ferrocene derivatives

CrystEngComm, 2011
The CSD study shows that 46.8% of ferrocene (Fc) containing crystal structures form a ferrocene–ferrocene dimer (FcD). In all those 2120 structures the FcD exhibits very similar geometry. An outstanding electrostatic complementarity between the Fc units within the dimer explains very frequent formation and constrained geometry of this building block.

Propynylferrocene and (phenylethynyl)ferrocene

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2006
The title compounds, propynylferrocene, [Fe(C 5 H 5 )(C 8 H 7 )], (I), and (phenylethynyl)ferrocene, [Fe(C 5 H 5 )(C 13 H 9 )], (II), are stabilized by weak C-H···π interactions. The C≡C bond distances in these molecules are in the range 1.182 (3)-1.192 (3) A.
