Ferroelectric Memories

Science, 1989
In the past year it has become possible to fabricate ferroelectric thin-film memories onto standard silicon integrated circuits that combine very high speed (30-nanosecond read/erase/rewrite operation), 5-volt standard silicon logic levels, very high density (2 by 2 micrometer cell size), complete nonvolatility (no standby power required), and extreme ...

Aging in Ferroelectrics

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 2005
The reorientation of defect dipoles and the drift of free charge carriers are the most prominent microscopic mechanisms under discussion to provoke the aging effect in ferroelectrics. These two mechanisms are contrasted taking into account the influence of grain boundaries in a polycrystalline material.

Ferroelectricity and Ferroelectric Phase Transition

2013
Ultrathin crystalline films offer the possibility of exploring phase transitions in the crossover region between two and three dimensions. Second-order ferromagnetic phase transitions have been observed in monolayer magnetic films.

Ferroelectric Polymers

Science, 1983
Piezoelectricity and pyroelectricity, traditionally encountered in certain single crystals and ceramics, have now also been documented in a number of polymers. Recently, one such polymer—poly(vinylidene fluoride)—and some of its copolymers have been shown to be ferroelectric as well.

Effect of ferroelectric parameters on ferroelectric diodes

Journal of Applied Physics, 2012
We investigate the effect of various ferroelectric parameters, such as the doping density, the permittivity, and the thickness, on ferroelectric diodes based on the proposed self-consistent numerical model. Our calculations clarify the dependence of the band diagrams, the charge density distributions, and the I–V curves on these important ferroelectric

Ferroelectricity in Doped Incipient Ferroelectrics

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2002
We consider the quantum properties of mixed incipient ferroelectrics with small concentrations of ferroelectricity inducing ions such as KTa1−xNbxO3. We show that the nonuniform strong intra‐band electron ‐ phonon interaction leads to the localization of virtual conduction band electrons around the Nb ions and to the off ‐center displacements of these ...

Molecular Ferroelectric Pyridin-4-ylmethanaminium Perchlorate Undergoes Paraelectric–Ferroelectric and Ferroelectric–Ferroelectric Phase Transitions

The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2016
Molecule-based ferroelectrics are a class of highly desirable intelligent materials for their rich switchable physical properties, easy and environmentally friendly processing, especial lightweight and mechanical flexibility. In the current work, a new molecule-based ferroelectrics pyridin-4-ylmethanaminium perchlorate was discovered undergoing ...
