High‐Q Cavity Coupled to a High Permittivity Dielectric Resonator for Sensing Applications

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, EarlyView.
Electromagnetic simulations and microwave measurements at temperatures as low as 160 mK are used to investigate a hybrid system of a SrTiO3${\rm SrTiO}_3$ resonator and a high‐Q elliptical cavity. By using the STO puck as an active element sensitive to external quantities, and using high‐precision measurements on the high‐Q cavity, the potential for ...

“Dead Lithium” Formation and Mitigation Strategies in Anode‐Free Li‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
Anode‐free lithium metal batteries, though promising due to their high energy density, face challenges from dead lithium formation. “Dead lithium”, disconnected from the anode, causes capacity loss, increased resistance, and safety risks. This review explores the origins of dead lithium, its impact on battery performance, and potential strategies for ...

Recent Advances in NASICON‐Type Electrolytes for Solid‐State Metal Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
NASICON‐type solid electrolytes are one of the potential candidates for solid‐state rechargeable batteries, which are paid much attention by both academic and industrial communities. ABSTRACT Compared to traditional liquid electrolyte batteries, solid metal batteries offer advantages such as a wide operating temperature range, high energy density, and ...

Lead‐Free (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 Unmodified Piezoceramics: A Reduction in the Energetic Budget of Solid State Synthesis and Sintering

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
The temperature of the solid‐state synthesis of pure (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 piezo‐composition is reduced by using the niobium pentoxide reactant in the mixture of reagents after attrition milling for only 3h: a majoritarian (57 wt.% of the total Nb2O5 content) orthorhombic polymorph Pbam.
