Phenomenological Theory of Ferroelectric Ceramics

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1953
A ferroelectric ceramic represents in its virgin state, mildly idealized, a three-dimensionally isotropic continuum; in the polarized state, however, a two-dimensionally isotropic one. A general conservative medium of the latter type has ten independent adiabatic elastodielectric parameters.

Thermal Conduction in Ferroelectric Ceramics

Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1960
Apparatuses were constructed and measurements were made on the thermal conductivity of insulating crystals over the temperature ranges from -200°C to 600°C. For the lower temperature range, the absolute measurement was used, while for the higher one, the comparative method was adopted.

New aspects in ferroelectric ceramics

Ferroelectrics, 1980
Abstract A survey will be presented about the considerable progress which recently has been achieved in the applicability of ferroelectric ceramics. This progress has been obtained by using conventional ferroelectric ceramic materials in combination with second phases of different physical properties (e.g. Pb(Zr, Ti)O3-polymer composites). Furthermore,

Thinned ferroelectric crystals and ceramics

Proceedings of 1994 IEEE International Symposium on Applications of Ferroelectrics, 2002
In interpreting the properties of thin film ferroelectrics, it is useful to have baseline electrical property data on thinned single crystals and ceramics over the same thickness range, In this study, the properties of thinned BaTiO/sub 3/ have been investigated. To examine the quality of the surfaces produced, spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) was used.

Domain structure of ferroelectric ceramics

Ceramics International, 2000
Abstract PZT ceramics were statically and dynamically evaluated to examine the relationship between domain structures and electrical properties. We investigated the domain structures of tetragonal, M.P.B. and rhombohedral PZT ceramics at various poling fields to measure the poling field dependence of the crystal orientations and electrical properties

Ferroelectric Ceramics: History and Technology

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1999
Ferroelectric ceramics were born in the early 1940s with the discovery of the phenomenon of ferroelectricity as the source of the unusually high dielectric constant in ceramic barium titanate capacitors. Since that time, they have been the heart and soul of several multibillion dollar industries, ranging from high‐dielectric‐constant capacitors to ...
