Ferroelectric zirconate ceramics
1949 Conference on Electrical Insulation, 1949A new class of ferroelectric ceramics was revealed in a study of mixtures of lead zirconate and up to 40 mol percent barium zirconate. These compositions were prepared from pure zirconium oxide, lead monoxide and barium carbonate mixed in the desired stoichiometric proportions and calcined in covered platinum crucibles at 1050°C.

Strong ultrasonic microwaves in ferroelectric ceramics

Proceedings, 1998It is well known that ferroelectric materials have piezoelectric properties which allow the transformation of electrical signals into mechanical signals and vice versa. The transducer action normally is restricted to frequencies up to the mechanical resonance frequency of the sample.

Elastocaloric effect in ferroelectric ceramics
Applied Physics Letters, 2015Elastocaloric effect has been experimentally demonstrated in bulk (Ba0.85Ca0.15)(Zr0.1Ti0.9)O3 polycrystalline ferroelectric material. Predictions were made using Maxwell's relationship for elastocaloric effect. A maximum elastocaloric effect of 1.55 K was observed for an initial material temperature of 340 K and applied compressive stress of 0–250 MPa

Ferroelectric Fatigue of KNN Ceramics
Ferroelectrics, 2015Phase-pure KNN (K0.5Na0.5NbO3) was synthesized from Rochelle salt and niobium pentoxide through solid-state route and the synthesized powder was sintered at 1130°C to get dense KNN ceramics. After polarization fatigue test, it was found that the d33, kP and remanent polarization (Prem) of KNN decreased substantially.

Ferroelectric ceramic memory devices
1964 International Electron Devices Meeting, 1964This paper discusses the information storage characteristics of an improved lead zirconate-lead titanate ferroelectric ceramic composition. The memory elements discussed are ceramic disc resonators operated in the radial extensional mode and utilizing small-signal, nondestructive readout of the remanent polarization state.

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1953A ferroelectric ceramic represents in its virgin state, mildly idealized, a three-dimensionally isotropic continuum; in the polarized state, however, a two-dimensionally isotropic one. A general conservative medium of the latter type has ten independent adiabatic elastodielectric parameters.
