Ferroelectric properties of pyridinium tetrafluoroborate

Physical Review B, 1994
The differential thermal analysis of a single crystal of pyridinium tetrafluoroborate was performed revealing two solid-solid phase transitions at 205 and 240 K. The real part of the dielectric permittivity was measured between 190 and 290 K. The large anomaly at the higher phase transition is interpreted as the Curie point of a new ferroelectric ...

Optical Properties of Relaxor Ferroelectrics

Ferroelectrics, 2004
The optical absorption spectrum, luminescent emission and photoconductivity were investigated in single crystal PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3 and in the Pb0.91La0.09(Zr0.65Ti0.35)O3 ceramics in the wide temperature region. The spectrum of the luminescence correlates with spectrum of photoconductivity emission.

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF FERROELECTRIC CERAMIC NANOCOMPOSITES

International Journal of Nanoscience, 2005
The micro- and nano-indentation techniques and compression tests were employed to determine the mechanical properties of PZT based composites dispersed with Al 2 O 3 nano-particles for comparison. Compared with the reduced modulus, the nano-hardness, which exhibited indentation size effect (ISE), seemed to be more sensitive to the indentation depth ...

Ferroelectric properties of colemanite

Inorganic Materials, 2006
The electrical conductivity, dielectric permittivity, and loss tangent of colemanite single crystals are measured as functions of temperature, and the fractal scaling law exponent is evaluated. The origin of the colossal dielectric response of hydrogen-bonded crystals is discussed.

Adjustable ferroelectric properties in paraelectric/ferroelectric/paraelectric trilayers

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2008
A trilayer paraelectric/ferroelectric/paraelectric system is studied within the framework of the Ginzburg–Landau–Devonshire theory in consideration of the elastic interactions between each layer. An analytic expression of the ferroelectric phase transition temperature for the ferroelectric layer is derived.

Low-temperature thermal properties of ferroelectrics

Physical Review B, 1985
Through measurements of the low-temperature thermal conductivity and specific heat, we show that two classes of ferroelectrics can be distinguished. One class exhibits behavior typical of crystalline solids and the other displays behavior identical to that seen in structural glasses.
