Magnetic structure determination of multiple phases in the multiferroic candidate GdCrO3

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section B, Volume 81, Issue 3, Page 293-301, June 2025.
Using neutron powder diffraction, the successive magnetic structures in multiferroic candidate GdCrO3 have been determined, including a complex incommensurate phase below 2.3 K. The symmetry analysis uses a combination of little group formalism and superspace group approach highlighting the strength of each method and the results are reported using the

The varying temperature‐ and pressure‐induced phase transition pathways in hybrid improper ferroelectric Sr3Sn2O7

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section B, Volume 81, Issue 3, Page 318-324, June 2025.
The phase transitions in Sr3Sn2O7 are studied crystallographically, illustrating both the hybrid improper ferroelectric mechanism that acts in this material and the varying response of the symmetry‐breaking degrees of freedom with pressure and temperature.A variable‐temperature and pressure single‐crystal diffraction study of hybrid improper ...

Extraordinary Tunability of the Superexchange Interactions in Nanoparticles of the Multiferroic 0.50BiFeO3-0.50PbTiO3 [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
The coexistence and coupling of magnetic and ferroelectric orderings in single phase multiferroics has evinced enormous scientific interest as it involves breaking of time reversal and space inversion symmetries in the same material. The mutual controllability of the two diverse orderings in multiferroics has potential for developing new generation ...
