Is There A Pure Electronic Ferroelectric?

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The search for faster, more reliable ferroelectric materials has shifted from traditional lattice‐driven ferroelectrics, which rely on slow ionic displacements, to electronic ferroelectrics, where polarization is governed by electronic ordering. This shift enables ultrafast switching, low‐field operation, and resistance to fatigue.

Using ultrashort optical pulses to couple ferroelectric and ferromagnetic order in an oxide heterostructure

open access: yes, 2014
A new approach to all-optical detection and control of the coupling between electric and magnetic order on ultrafast timescales is achieved using time-resolved second harmonic generation (SHG) to study a ferroelectric (FE)/ferromagnet (FM) oxide ...

Band‐Edge Engineering of BiFeO3–KTaO3 Solid Solutions toward Efficient Solar Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
This study reports BiFeO3–KTaO3 solid solutions as efficient photocathodes for solar hydrogen production. Combining experiments with density functional theory, the authors demonstrate composition‐driven band‐edge tuning, achieving high photocurrent density and hydrogen generation rates.

Magnetron Sputtering Synthesis of La‐Doped BiFeO3 Thin Films and Enhanced Exchange Bias in CoFeB/Bi1‐xLaxFeO3 Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This study explores the epitaxial growth of high‐quality La‐doped BiFeO3 (BLFO) thin films at 550 °C using magnetron sputtering. The films exhibit good ferroelectric properties and low leakage current. A BLFO/CoFeB heterostructure is constructed, achieving an exchange bias field exceeding the coercive field at room temperature.

On the theory of phase transition in muliferroics

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we investigate peculiarities of phase transition high-symmetry - incommensurate phase in inhomogeneous systems. We obtain the nonlinear dispersion law and then present a renormalization group analysis of phase transitions in multiferroics ...
