Ferromagnetic resonance in amorphous ferromagnet

Solid State Communications, 1984
Abstract The peculiarities of the ferromagnetic resonance of an amorphous ferromagnet in which a certain number of atoms forms the two-level systems are studied. The logarithmic dependence upon the temperature and the applied magnetic field of the frequency shift of the ferromagnetic resonance is obtained.

Ferromagnetism and EMFs

Nature, 1995
The question of whether weak, extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields (EMFs) can cause cancer always generates heated debate (see, for example, refs 1-3). In addition to epidemiological studies, a substantial body of literature exists on EMF stimulation of cells grown in vitro (for example, refs 4, 5). Although numerous effects have been

Spin-valve effect in superconductor/ferromagnet/ferromagnet and ferromagnet/superconductor/ferromagnet structures of atomic thickness

Physical Review B, 2017
We show that the peculiarities of the electron band structure strongly affect the spin-valve effect in heterostructures consisting of a superconductor (S) and two ferromagnetic layers ${\mathrm{F}}_{1}$ and ${\mathrm{F}}_{2}$. For the $\mathrm{S}/{\mathrm{F}}_{1}/{\mathrm{F}}_{2}$ systems the energy shift between the electron bands in the S and ...

Ferromagnetic resonance studies of multiphase ferromagnets

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2000
Abstract The theory of ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) and spin-wave resonance (SWR) is presented for the general case of multiphase ferromagnets, and applied to nanocrystalline materials, where nanometre size ferromagnetic crystals are embedded in an amorphous ferromagnetic phase which has a different magnetization. The possible existence of spin-wave

Criteria for ferromagnetic–insulator–ferromagnetic tunneling

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2002
The Rowell criteria, commonly used to identify tunneling in magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJ), are scrutinized. While neither the exponential-thickness dependence of the conductivity nor fits of non-linear transport data are found to be reliable tunneling criteria, the temperature-dependent conductivity does remain a solid criterion.

Magnetotribology of ferromagnetic/ferromagnetic sliding couple

Wear, 2007
Abstract Applied magnetic field around the rotating sliding ferromagnetic steel/steel modifies the friction and the wear behaviour of the contact. The friction tests where conducted in ambient air or in high vacuum chamber 10 −5  Pa. The applied normal loads are 0.1, 18.5 and 37 N. Without magnetic field, the contact is ductile steel against steel in

Half-Metallic Ferromagnetism and Surface Functionalization-Induced Metal-Insulator Transition in Graphene-like Two-Dimensional Cr2C Crystals.

ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2015
Graphene-like two-dimensional materials have garnered tremendous interest as emerging device materials for nanoelectronics due to their remarkable properties. However, their applications in spintronics have been limited by the lack of intrinsic magnetism.

Tunneling Magnetoresistance in Ferromagnet/Insulator/Ferromagnet Junctions

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 1997
A δ-type potential with complex prefactor is modeled on the tunneling barrier of a thin insulator (I) film separating two ferromagnetic (FM) films. By matching value and slope of wave functions across the tunneling barrier of a FM/I/FM junction, we obtain a general expression for tunneling conductance as a function of relative orientation θ between ...

Tunneling conductance and magnetoresistance of ferromagnet/ferromagnetic insulator (semiconductor)/ferromagnet junctions

Physical Review B, 1998
The tunneling conductance (TC) and magnetoresistance (TMR) are investigated for magnetic junctions consisting of two ferromagnetic electrodes separated by a ferromagnetic insulator (semiconductor). The investigations are based on the nearly-free-electron approximation.

Superconductivity and Ferromagnetism

IBM Journal of Research and Development, 1962
Superconductivity and ferromagnetism were considered exclusive phenomena for many decades. Ever since Kamerlingh Onnes' discovery that strong magnetic fields will destroy superconductivity it had been assumed that the large internal, or Weiss field, in a ferromagnet would never permit the occurrence of superconductivity.
