Van der Waals crystals have recently been shown to exhibit ferromagnetism, however the Curie temperature is typically quite low. Herein, Wu et al succeed in producing mono and few layer crystals of CrTe, a non-van der Waals crystal, and demonstrate ...

Thickness-Dependent Sign Change of the Magnetoresistance in VTe2 Thin Films
Transition metal dichalcogenides of type VX2 (X = S, Se, Te) have recently attracted great interest as it has been predicted that they host ferromagnetism at room temperature. Whether ferromagnetism is indeed present is an open experimental question.

Ferromagnetism in Fluorides [PDF]
AbstractRelatively few non‐metallic ferromagnetic materials are available. The authors give a survey of the ferromagnetic fluorides. Three main groups are considered: rare earth fluorides, layer‐type Cu2+ fluorides and LiSbF4‐type compounds.

Enhanced room temperature ferromagnetism in MoS2 by N plasma treatment
The introduction of ferromagnetism in MoS2 is important for its applications in semiconductor spintronics. MoS2 powders were synthesized by hydrothermal method, followed by the N plasma treatment at room temperature.

Nearly room temperature ferromagnetism in a magnetic metal-rich van der Waals metal
A theoretically designed van der Waals ferromagnet Fe4GeTe2 is synthesized and shows the nearly room temperature ferromagnetism. In spintronics, two-dimensional van der Waals crystals constitute a most promising material class for long-distance spin ...

Model simulation of ferromagnetic magnetization in n-type ZnO
We proposed a theoretical model to simulate the ferromagnetism in n-type ZnO. The model suggests that ferromagnetism arises from the spin split of the electrons in the dopant-induced impurity states by Coulomb excitation.

Mechanism for Anomalous Hall Ferromagnetism in Twisted Bilayer Graphene. [PDF]
Motivated by the recent observation of an anomalous Hall effect in twisted bilayer graphene, we use a lowest Landau level model to understand the origin of the underlying symmetry-broken correlated state.

Room temperature ferromagnetism in ZnO prepared by microemulsion
Clear room temperature ferromagnetism has been observed in ZnO powders prepared by microemulsion. The O vacancy (VO) clusters mediated by the VO with one electron (F center) contributed to the ferromagnetism, while the isolated F centers contributed to ...
