Discovery of ferromagnetism in new multicomponent alloy Ti–Nb–Cr–Ru

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2022
We report the discovery of ferromagnetism in the cubic CsCl-type Ti21∼25Nb20∼24Cr5∼10Ru∼49 multicomponent alloy. In metals, the appearance of ferromagnetism due to the Cr magnetic moment is a rare phenomenon.

Microscopic theory of non local pair correlations in metallic F/S/F trilayers [PDF]

open access: yesEur. Phys. J. B 25, 373-389 (2002), 2001
We consider a microscopic theory of F/S/F trilayers with metallic or insulating ferromagnets. The trilayer with metallic ferromagnets is controlled by the formation of non local pair correlations among the two ferromagnets which do not exist with insulating ferromagnets.

Long range intrinsic ferromagnetism in two dimensional materials and dissipationless future technologies [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics Reviews, 2018
The inherent susceptibility of low-dimensional materials to thermal fluctuations has long been expected to poses a major challenge to achieving intrinsic long-range ferromagnetic order in two-dimensional materials.

Interplay between carrier and cationic defect concentration in ferromagnetism of anatase Ti1-xTaxO2 thin films

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2012
Thin films of Ta incorporated TiO2 grown by pulsed laser deposition under specific growth conditions show room temperature ferromagnetism. Ta introduces carriers and concomitantly cationic defects, the combination of which leads to ferromagnetism.

Quantum Oscillations of Tunnel Magnetoresistance Induced by Spin-Wave Excitations in Ferromagnet-Ferromagnet-Ferromagnet Double Barrier Tunnel Junctions [PDF]

open access: yesPHYSICAL REVIEW B 76,144409(2007), 2008
The possibility of quantum oscillations of the tunnel conductance and magnetoresistance induced by spin-wave excitations in a ferromagnet-ferromagnet-ferromagnet double barrier tunnel junction, when the magnetizations of the two side ferromagnets are aligned antiparallel to that of the middle ferromagnet, is investigated in a self-consistent manner by ...

Two-dimensional multiferroic semiconductors with coexisting ferroelectricity and ferromagnetism [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2018
Low-dimensional multiferroicity, though highly scarce in nature, has attracted great attention due to both fundamental and technological interests. Using first-principles density functional theory, we show that ferromagnetism and ferroelectricity can ...

Superconducting magnetoresistance in ferromagnet/superconductor/ferromagnet trilayers [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2015
AbstractMagnetoresistance is a multifaceted effect reflecting the diverse transport mechanisms exhibited by different kinds of plain materials and hybrid nanostructures; among other, giant, colossal and extraordinary magnetoresistance versions exist, with the notation indicative of the intensity.

Theoretical description of the ferromagnetic $π$-junctions near the critical temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The theory of ferromagnetic Pi-junction near the critical temperature is presented. It is demonstrated that in the dirty limit the modified Usadel equation adequately describes the proximity effect in ferromagnets. To provide the description of an experimentally relevant situation, oscillations of the Josephson critical current are calculated as a ...
