Asymmetric ferromagnet-superconductor-ferromagnet switch [PDF]
In layered ferromagnet-superconductor-ferromagnet F{sub 1} /S/F{sub 2} structures, the critical temperature T{sub c} of the superconductors depends on the magnetic orientation of the ferromagnetic layers F{sub 1} and F{sub 2} relative to each other.

Discovery of ferromagnetism in new multicomponent alloy Ti–Nb–Cr–Ru
We report the discovery of ferromagnetism in the cubic CsCl-type Ti21∼25Nb20∼24Cr5∼10Ru∼49 multicomponent alloy. In metals, the appearance of ferromagnetism due to the Cr magnetic moment is a rare phenomenon.

Superconducting magnetoresistance in ferromagnet/superconductor/ferromagnet trilayers [PDF]
AbstractMagnetoresistance is a multifaceted effect reflecting the diverse transport mechanisms exhibited by different kinds of plain materials and hybrid nanostructures; among other, giant, colossal and extraordinary magnetoresistance versions exist, with the notation indicative of the intensity.

Two-dimensional multiferroic semiconductors with coexisting ferroelectricity and ferromagnetism [PDF]
Low-dimensional multiferroicity, though highly scarce in nature, has attracted great attention due to both fundamental and technological interests. Using first-principles density functional theory, we show that ferromagnetism and ferroelectricity can ...

Enhanced Ferromagnetism and Tunable Magnetism in Fe3GeTe2 Monolayer by Strain Engineering.
Recent discovery of intrinsic ferromagnetism in Fe3GeTe2 (FGT) monolayer [Nature 2018, 563, 94; Nat. Mater. 2018, 17, 778] not only extended the family of 2D magnetic materials, but also stimulated further interest in the possibility to tune their ...

Defect-induced magnetism in undoped wide band gap oxides: Zinc vacancies in ZnO as an example
To shed light on the mechanism responsible for the weak ferromagnetism in undoped wide band gap oxides, we carry out a comparative study on ZnO thin films prepared using both sol-gel and molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) methods. Compared with the MBE samples,
