Structure and Biosynthesis of Mangotoxin Produced by the Plant Pathogen Pseudomonas syringae

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The structure of mangotoxin remained elusive for over two decades. Here, mangotoxin was isolated from the native producer, Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae, and was determined to be an alkyne‐containing dipeptide. Mangotoxin inhibited the growth of multidrug‐resistant human pathogen Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Investigation of tensile deformation behavior of a TWIP/TRIP metastable β titanium alloy at typical temperature part Ⅱ: 20 K

open access: yesMaterials & Design
The tensile behavior and deformation mechanism of Ti-10Mo alloy at liquid hydrogen temperature (20 K) were investigated. The results showed that Ti-10Mo alloy has a high UTS of 1553 MPa and a high YS of 1497 MPa at 20 K, as well as an excellent ...

Synergistic Integration of Fe–N4 Single‐Atom Sites and Directionally Aligned Electrode Architecture for High‐Performance Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A directionally ice‐templated sulfur cathode integrated with atomically dispersed Fe–N4 catalytic sites is developed for high‐performance lithium–sulfur batteries. The structure–catalysis synergy accelerates Li+ transport and polysulfide conversion, leading to high sulfur utilization and stable long‐term cycling performance.

Prophage Activation Triggers Extracellular Synthesis of DNA in Bacterial Biofilms via Rolling Circle Replication

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Shewanella oneidensis and Bacillus subtilis, both harboring prophages, reveal a novel biosynthetic route to scalable and programmable DNA superstructures in flower‐ and wire‐like shapes, respectively. Activation of prophages is achieved via 3‐hour starvation and monitored using reporter strains.

Accelerating Phosphate Transport Across Membranes via Synergistic Chemical‐Electrochemical Carriers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A new membrane design principle based on synergistic chemical and electrochemical carriers is proposed to construct an electro‐driven carrier‐conducting membrane for high‐throughput phosphate transport. Monodispersed ferrihydrite nanoparticles embedded within the membrane act as built‐in phosphate carriers, enabling accelerated phosphate migration via ...

The existence of ferrous ferricyanide

open access: yes, 1999
Evidence in the literature on the synthesis of ferrous ferricyanide is critically discussed. Pyrolysis and pressure e ects on Prussian Blue lead to ferrous ferrocyanide together with decomposition by-products, and not to ferrous ferricyanide.
