Impact of sulphur fertilisation on crop response to selenium fertilisation

open access: yesPlant and Soil, 2009
UK wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) has a low selenium (Se) concentration and agronomic biofortification with Se is a proposed solution. A possible limitation is that UK wheat is routinely fertilised with sulphur (S), which may affect uptake of Se by the crop.

Aspirin for in vitro fertilisation [PDF]

open access: yesCochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, 2016
Aspirin is used with the aim of optimising the chance of live birth in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART), despite inconsistent evidence of its efficacy and safety (in terms of intraoperative bleeding during oocyte retrieval and risk of miscarriage).

Une fertilisation paradoxale ? [PDF]

Self-fertilisation in Mollusca [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1922
As the question of self-fertilisation in the more highly organised invertebrates is of considerable importance from the genetic point of view, I would like to direct the attention of readers of NATURE to a publication (Acta Soc. pro Fauna et Flora Fennica, vol. 40, No. 2, 1915), a copy of which I have just received from the author, Dr. A. Luther.

Fertilisation of Flowers by Insects [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1873
IN my last article on Alpine Gentiana species, I supposed that the chief, if not the only fertiliser of G. bavarica and verna might be Macroglossa stellatarum with its proboscis of 25-28 mm. length. Yesterday, near the Albula pass, I was happy enough to confirm this supposition by direct observation.

Endometriosis and in vitro fertilisation.

open access: yesExperimental and therapeutic medicine, 2018
The aim of the present review was to discuss a matter of concern in the clinical field of obstetrics/gynecology, namely the potency of in vitro fertilization (IVF) in the management of endometriosis-associated infertility. Endometriosis is a medical condition affecting one tenth of women in their fertile years, and accounts for up to 50% of infertile ...

Green Approach to the Fertiliser Industry: Low-carbon Fertilisers

open access: yesKemija u industriji : Časopis kemičara i kemijskih inženjera Hrvatske, 2022
Decarbonisation means reducing or ideally eliminating the greenhouse gas emissions by evaluating all processes in a system from a “low-carbon” perspective. This review describes the current state of the fertiliser industry, and the options and recommendations for its decarbonisation.
