On the impossibility of inferring cohort fertility measures from period fertility measures [PDF]
A particularly important struggle faced by demographic analysts is, how to arrive at statements about family formation processes from a cohort perspective from data that are essentially collected on an annual basis.

Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) exposure disrupts oocyte maturation and early embryonic development. This study elucidates the mechanism by which enhanced O‐GlcNAcylation of FOXK1 underlies the PFOS‐induced reduction of progesterone levels in granulosa cells and the disturbance of follicular microenvironment.

Magnetic and Crystal Symmetry Control on Spin Hall Conductivity in Altermagnets
Crystal structures and schematic illustrations of the spin Hall effect (SHE) in altermagnets. High‐symmetry RuO2 exhibits conventional SHE, while tilted RuO2 shows trivial unconventional SHE (USHE) caused by structural tilting. CrSb and MnTe, with reduced magnetic symmetry, display intrinsic USHE arising from symmetry‐driven spin–momentum locking ...

Migration and fertility: competing hypotheses re-examined [PDF]
Competing views exist concerning the impact of geographical mobility on childbearing patterns. Early research shows that internal migrants largely exhibit fertility levels dominant in their childhood environment, while later studies find migrants ...

In middle age, testicular CMKLR1⁺ macrophages exhibited a pro‐inflammatory immunometabolic profile, mediated by adipose signals associated with high BMI. However, inhibition of CMKLR1 signaling, either through Cmklr1 genetic ablation or treatment with a CMKLR1 antagonist peptide, can reverse this phenotype.

Tempo-Adjusted Period Parity Progression Measures: [PDF]
In this paper we apply tempo-adjusted period parity progression ratios (Kohler and Ortega 2002) to Sweden, the Netherlands and Spain. These countries represent three distinct demographic patterns in contemporary Europe and are of particular interest for ...

Meta‐GWAS of Pig Semen Quality Traits Reveals Conserved Genes Regulating Mammalian Fertility
This study incorporated 14 210 individuals to perform a GWAS meta‐analysis of six semen quality traits. The GWAS meta‐analysis identifies 234 GWAS loci associated with semen quality traits. The incorporation with a functional genomics resource explains potential genetic regulation of ∼40% GWAS signals underlying semen quality traits.

Fertility, Education and Development: Further Evidence from India [PDF]
There has been a significant decline in fertility in many parts of India since the early 1980s. This paper reexamines the determinants of fertility levels and fertility decline, using panel data on Indian districts for 1981 and 1991. We find that women's
