Cytologic investigation of human in vitro fertilization failures

Fertility and Sterility, 1985
A cytogenetic study of unsuccessfully fertilized oocytes was done for information on the frequency and type of chromosomal abnormalities leading to preimplantation loss. Of 72 oocytes, 44 were assessed as mature, 19 as intermediate, and 9 as immature. The mean fertilization rate was 68%.

Defective sperm decondensation: a cause for fertilization failure

Andrologia, 2002
The study aimed to evaluate the role of chromatin packaging (CMA3 staining), sperm morphology during sperm-zona binding, sperm decondensation and the presence of polar bodies in oocytes that failed in vitro fertilization (IVF). The percentage CMA3 staining categorized the data into three groups, < 44%, n = 10; > or = 44-59%, n = 10; and > or = 60%, n =

Cytogenetic analysis of in vitro fertilization (IVF) failures

Human Genetics, 1989
Cytogenetic studies were carried out on 150 oocytes obtained in a human in vitro fertilization (IVF) program. Although all cells lacked signs of fertilization at light microscopy, 46 (30.7%) appeared to show cytological evidence of fertilization.

BaP exposure causes oocyte meiotic arrest and fertilization failure to weaken female fertility

The FASEB Journal, 2017
Benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) is a ubiquitous environmental pollutant and carcinogen that is frequently found in particulate matter, with a diameter of ≤ 2.5 μm (PM2.5). It has been reported to interrupt the normal reproductive system, but the exact molecular basis has not been clearly defined.

Observations on fertilization failure in Merino ewes

Australian Journal of Experimental Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, 1974
Two experiments were conducted to investigate the level of fertilization failure that was attributed to oestrous ewes being mounted and marked by the harnessed ram but where service accompanied with ejaculation had not occurred. In ewes marked by harnessed rams, the occurrence of failure of service with ejaculation was determined by examining a 2 cm ...

[Fertilization failure in IVF and ICSI].

Journal de gynecologie, obstetrique et biologie de la reproduction, 2015
To assess male and female clinical and biological parameters that may explain fertilization failure in vitro fertilization (IVF) and IVF with intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).Retrospective case-control study including 1282 IVF or ICSI cycles at the centre hospitalier universitaire of Nantes from September 2010 to February 2012.
