Forecasting Root Rot Disease through Predictive Microbial Functional Profiling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Predicting soil‐borne disease moves beyond observation with a framework that elevates microbial functional genes into reliable forecasting biomarkers. By coupling targeted qPCR assays for core stress‐response genes with machine learning, this method detects root rot risks in pre‐symptomatic soils with over 80% accuracy.

Versatile DNA Hydrogel‐Mediated Delivery of Ginsenoside‐Encapsulated Small Extracellular Vesicles to Boost Diabetic Wound Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a DNA hydrogel‐mediated delivery system, in which ginsenoside (GS) molecules are incorporated into small extracellular vesicles (sEV) secreted by mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and the formed complexes are then anchored in DNA hydrogels via aptamer‐CD63 affinity as “GS/sEV@DNAgels”, to improve diabetic wound repair.

Rent seeking, interest groups and environmental lobbying: Cane Farmers versus Great Barrier Reef Protectionists [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper an interest group model of rent seeking behaviour between sugarcane farmers and environmental protectionists is developed. The motivation for this scenario comes from the debate over fertilizer run-off and its possible impact on Queensland ...

18β‐Glycyrrhetinic Acid and a Nano‐Liposomal Formulation Alleviate Depression‐Like Behaviors via the Microglial mTOR‐Autophagy‐NLRP3 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using a novel zebrafish‐based inflammatory screening strategy, we screened and identified 18β‐glycyrrhetinic acid (18β‐GA) as a promising anti‐inflammatory candidate. We uncover a microglial mTOR–autophagy–NLRP3 axis that constitutes the mechanistic core of 18β‐GA–mediated neuroprotection.

Fertilisation azotée des légumes industriels

open access: yesBiotechnologie, Agronomie, Société et Environnement, 2013
Nitrogen fertilization of vegetables. Industrial vegetables occupy 2% of the utilized agricultural area in the Walloon region; of nearly 15,000 ha., 73% is given over to the growing of legumes. Nitrogen inputs are low or zero for legumes.

Thirty years of growing cereal without P and K fertilization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Over thirty years a significant depletion of P and K in soil occured when the were not given in fertilizers. This caused a reduction in crop yield. An abundant P application exceeding the crop uptake very clearly prevented the yield reduction but did not

Deciphering the Evolution Pattern of Structural Variations Overlapped With Repetitive Sequence During Cattle Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The authors complement bovine pan‐SV with massive novel structural variations (SVs) identified through long‐read sequencing of 83 globally distributed cattle breeds. Repetitive sequence‐mediated SVs (rep‐SV) exhibit distinct dynamic patterns throughout cattle sub‐speciation and/or domestication processes, including uneven distribution between chr‐X and

Diversité de la qualité des engrais organiques produits par les paysans d'Afrique de l'Ouest : quelles conséquences sur les recommandations de fumure ?

open access: yesBiotechnologie, Agronomie, Société et Environnement, 2014
Diversity in the quality of organic manure produced on farms in West Africa: what impact on recommendations for the use of manure?. The maintenance of humus balance in cultivated soils is a guarantee of the sustainability of production systems.
