This study globally shows that the EWGSOP2 algorithm is a valid tool even in hospitalized older patients. In fact, every step enhances the predictive validity of the algorithm, suggesting, however, that SARC‐F and muscle strength can still be valuable tools for negative clinical outcomes when body composition data are not available.

A two‐step approach combining laser powder bed fusion of FeSi electrical steel with Bakelite infiltration enables the fabrication of multifunctional gyroid lattice composites. The resulting structures exhibit high strength, magnetic anisotropy, and complete polymer infiltration, demonstrating a simple and scalable route toward lightweight, mechanically

Doping a semiconductor to create an unconventional metal
Landau Fermi liquid theory, with its pivotal assertion that electrons in metals can be simply understood as independent particles with effective masses replacing the free electron mass, has been astonishingly successful.

Control of Covalent Bond Enables Efficient Magnetic Cooling
Giant and reversible magnetocaloric effect (MCE) is achieved by tuning covalency through sub‐unit‐cell chemical engineering, establishing a novel design principle for effective hysteresis control in magnetocaloric materials. Abstract Magnetic cooling, harnessing the temperature change in matter when exposed to a magnetic field, presents an energy ...

The Zinc-Rich Corner of the Fe-Si-Sn-Zn Quaternary System at 450 °C
The 450 °C isothermal sections of the Fe-Si-Sn-Zn quaternary system with Zn composition fixed at 70 and 93 at.% were determined experimentally using optical microscopy, scanning electronic microscopy coupled with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy

Thermal and Dynamical Properties of the Two-band Hubbard Model Compared with FeSi
We study the two-band Hubbard model introduced by Fu and Doniach as a model for FeSi which is suggested to be a Kondo insulator. Using the self-consistent second-order perturbation theory combined with the local approximation which becomes exact in the ...

We estimate the contribution of the long-wavelength el-TO-ph interaction and discuss the effect it has on electron pairing in doped polar systems like SrTiO3 and PbTe. The analytical and numerical results presented in the study indicate that the el-TO-ph

High-temperature ab initio calculations on FeSi and NiSi [PDF]
The Fe–Ni–Si system is potentially a very important component of terrestrial planetary cores. However, at present, even the behaviour of the FeSi and NiSi end members is poorly understood, especially at low to moderate pressures—the data for FeSi are ...
