Interactions of FeSi Alloys with Graphite Crucibles

open access: yes, 2019

open access: yes, 2008
Self-diffusion of implanted 31Si in the ε-phase FeSi (cubic B20-structure) has been determined in the temperature range 660$\hbox{--}$ 810 $^{\circ }$C using the modified radiotracer technique. With an activation enthalpy of 2.30 eV and a pre-exponential

Study of FeSi Interlayers Formed During Iron-Mediated Epitaxial Growth of Graphene on SiC Substrates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A proposed graphene integrated semiconductor radiation sensor takes advantage of the electric field effect in graphene by measuring the change in resistance as a function of radiation exposure to the semiconductor substrate.

Mass spectrometric determination of the dissociation energies of the gaseous molecules FeSi, CoSi and NiSi

open access: yes, 1969
The dissociation energies of the gaseous molecules FeSi, CoSi and NiSi have been determined to be D00 (FeSi) = 293.0 ± 25, D00 (CoSi) = 270.7 ± 17 and D00 (NiSi) = 314.8 ± 17 kJ/mole assuming 1Σ, 2Σ and 1Σ electronic ground states, respectively.

Low temperature properties of the Kondo insulator FeSi

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we study the low temperature (T) properties of the Kondo insulator FeSi within the X-boson approach. We show that the ground state of the FeSi is metallic and highly correlated with a large effective mass; the low temperature contributions ...

The β-FeSi2 Formation and Thermoelectric Power of the FeSi2+Co Base Alloys

open access: yes, 2000
Temperature dependence of thermoelectric power and resistivity was measured for the β-FeSi2 based cast alloys on which n-type Co doping was performed with or without Cu addition. The Cu-free alloy shows a homogeneous eutectic microstructure consisting of

Bond order potential for FeSi

open access: yes, 2014
A new parameter set has been derived for FeSi using the Albe-Erhart-type bond order potential (BOP) and the PONTIFIX code for fitting the parameters on a large training set of various polymorphs. Ab initio calculations are also carried out to study the relative stability of various polymorphs and to use the obtained data in the training set.

Magneto-optical efficiencies combined with surface-plasmon resonance in FeSi/Au system

open access: yesAPL Materials
We designed and fabricated our original laminated materials that simultaneously exhibited different properties: magneto-optical (MO), i.e., the transverse MO Kerr effects (T-MOKE) and surface-plasmon resonance (SPR).
