Lipid composition of grains from wild grasses

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 1995
Physicochemical characteristics, fatty acid and sterol composition were studied in grains of Agropyron elongatum, Bromus catharticus, Festuca arundinacea, Stipa hyaline and Panicum maximum. The highest protein level was found in A. elongatum.

Extraction and structural study of hemicellulose B from tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea) : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Chemistry at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
1.1 Hemicellulose The structural carbohydrates are mixtures of polysaccharides which together with lignin, constitute the cell wall. Usually they are divided into three fractions: pectic substances, hemicellulose and cellulose.1 Pectins, widely ...

Overexpression of a Ran GTPase homologous gene, FaRan from tall fescue, in transgenic Arabidopsis

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2011
We isolated and characterized a novel Ran GTPase homologous gene, FaRan from tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.). Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis indicated that FaRan is broadly expressed in old mature leaves ...

Effects of Endophyte Infection in Tall Fescue (Festuca Arundinacea: Poaceae) on Community Diversity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Recent studies have suggested that the presence of endophytes in tall fescue can lead to decreased species richness in the associated plant community. To assess the generality of this hypothesis, a field study tested the effects of endophyte infection on

Quality Assessment of Festuca Arundinacea (Schreb.) Seeds Through Laboratory

open access: yesBulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca. Agriculture, 2012
Festuca Arundinacea  is one of the most valuable fodder plants, successfully grown in România. Festuca Arundinacea crop quality depends on the quality of seeds, therefore vigour tests are essential, as they describe the behaviour of seeds under various growth conditions.

Earthworm abundances in endophyte-infected tall fescue pastures in Northwest Arkansas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The ecology of organisms that co-evolve within an ecosystem is likely to be distinct from that involving organisms recently introduced into an area. To better understand the relationship of earthworms with endophyte-infected tall fescue, earthworms in ...

Engineering of Bioenergy Crops: Dominant Genetic Approaches to Improve Polysaccharide Properties and Composition in Biomass. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Large-scale, sustainable production of lignocellulosic bioenergy from biomass will depend on a variety of dedicated bioenergy crops. Despite their great genetic diversity, prospective bioenergy crops share many similarities in the polysaccharide ...
