This work introduces photo‐crosslinkable tyraminated poly(vinyl alcohol)‐gelatin (PVA‐GT) hydrogels as tunable injectable platforms for tissue engineering and growth factor delivery applications. This schematic illustrates the two developed hydrogel formulations and the experimental workflow used to evaluate their physico‐chemical properties in vitro ...

Peptomer Linkers Enable Kinetic Control over Co‐Delivery of Multiple Chemotherapeutics
A key challenge in combinatorial chemotherapeutic drug delivery is independent control over release kinetics, especially with drugs of similar size and structure. Here, peptoid substitutions to proteolytically degradable peptides enabled the design of fast and slow‐releasing drug linkers.

PCTM microspheres were successfully synthesized using microfluidic and click chemistry techniques. In Vivo and in vitro experiments have shown that PCTM microspheres have obvious targeting, adhesion, membrane penetration and anti‐tumor properties for bladder tumors. The antitumor mechanism of PCTM microspheres is to indirectly induce S‐stage blockage of ...

Ti6Al4V‐Bioglass‐Copper Composites for Load‐Bearing Implants
We have designed and manufactured a novel Ti64‐based composite by adding 45S5 bioglass (BG) and copper (Cu). Adding BG on titanium improves wear resistance and biocompatibility, whereas Cu addition improves mechanical strength while providing inherent lifelong bacterial resistance.

Dimensions of Critical Care Nursing, 1989
Trauma during pregnancy increases the mortality risk to both victims: mother and child. The critical care nurse assumes a major role in assessing needs from both the trauma and obstetric perspectives. Collaboration between the critical care and obstetric nurse is essential to meet the complex physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the ...

The death of a formed fetus is one of the most emotionally devastating events for parents and clinicians. With improved care for conditions such as RhD alloimmunization, diabetes, and preeclampsia, the rate of fetal death in the United States decreased substantially in the mid twentieth century.

The Journal of Emergency Medicine, 1989
This study was undertaken to characterize traumatic third trimester fetal deaths in terms of maternal injuries, seat belt use, and clinical course. All traumatic fetal deaths reported to the Chief Coroner's Office in Ontario (population approximately 9 million) over the five year period 1982-1986 (incl) were reviewed. A total of 13 cases were reported.
