Aberrant glycosylation in the glioblastoma tumor microenvironment drives therapeutic resistance. Here, a 3D bioprinted model was engineered by incorporating α‐NeuNAc‐(2→3)‐β‐D‐Gal‐ and chondroitin sulfate. Combined multiplex immunofluorescence and synchrotron‐based nanoCT analysis revealed that glycan‐matrix interactions dictate specific drug‐escape ...

Fetal Origins, Childhood Development, and Famine: A Bibliography and Literature Review [PDF]
The human costs of famines outlast the famines themselves. An increasing body of research points to their adverse long-run consequences for those born or in utero during them.

Engineered Nanotopography to Modulate Growth and Signaling of Neuronal Networks
This study examines the interaction between neurons and nanoscale topographies on engineered substrates. Neurons cultured on nanowires, nanopillars and nanoneedles exhibit enhanced neurite outgrowth, form more organized neuronal circuits, and display improved synaptic connectivity, compared to flat substrates.

Charting Morphotoxicity With Complementary Embryo Models
Three human embryo models of the peri‐implantation stages are exposed to a library of compounds. The (toxic) effects of the compounds are analyzed through automated image analysis pipelines. By evaluating the differential responses of the embryo models, this study underscores the importance of testing complementary embryo models to achieve robust and ...

The effects of asymmetric and symmetric fetal growth restriction on human capital development [PDF]
This paper explores the causal pathway by which poor fetal health translates into reducing educational attainment and earnings as an adult. Using insights from the medical literature, I decompose low birth weight infants into two distinct subtypes: a ...
