Vein of Galen Aneurysmal Malformation: Antenatal Diagnosis by Ultrasound and MRI

open access: yesOnline Journal of Health & Allied Sciences, 2015
Vein of Galen aneurysmal malformation is a rare intracranial arteriovenous malformation .It accounts for up to 30% of intracranial vascular malformations in pediatric population and 1% of all pediatric congenital anomalies. It causes severe morbidity and

Rapid Photogelation of Low‐Concentration Polymer Solutions via Photodimerization of o‐Ethylnitrobenzene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Upon UV irradiation, flexible and tough hydrogels are formed rapidly (>0.5 s) from dilute (>0.5 wt%) solutions of o‐ethylnitrobenzene–modified PVA. At ∼1.5 wt%, the hydrogels withstand up to 10 MPa compression, remain handleable even after 200‐fold swelling.

The Role of Genes and Environment on Fetal Growth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Fetal growth is influenced by the in utero environment and genetic factors inherited from both parents. Poor fetal growth leading to low birth weight is associated with insulin resistance and type-2 diabetes in later life.

Application and Single‐Cell Regulation Mechanism of Engineered EVs Combined With 4D‐Printed Hydrogel for Infected Burn Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
4D bioprinted hydrogel loaded with FGF2‐modified extracellular vesicles (4D@F‐EVs) targets dermal fibroblasts and elevates local wound FGF2 levels via sustained release of F‐EVs. It activates PI3K‐Akt signaling, restores critical KGF+ fibroblast–KGFR+ keratinocyte crosstalk, enhances robust angiogenesis and collagen deposition to efficiently repair ...

Self‐Amplified Activatable Fluorescent Probe for Early Diagnosis of Acute Kidney Injury and High‐Throughput Screening of Natural Protectants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The PS‐QRC nanoprobe employs L‐serine as a targeting ligand for kidney injury molecule‐1 (KIM‐1) to achieve accumulation in injured renal tissues. Upon activation by reactive oxygen species (ROS), it undergoes a self‐amplifying cascade to release fluorophores for near‐infrared fluorescence (NIRF) imaging, enabling ultra‐early diagnosis of acute kidney ...

Prenatal diagnosis of cystic adenomatoid malformation of the lung.

open access: yes, 1982
Cystic adenomatoid malformation of the lung (CAM) is an uncommon malformation in which normal tissue is replaced by cysts of various sizes. This malformation may be diagnosed prenatally with ultrasound by visualization of cystic masses in the fetal chest,

Loss of LCN2 Function Ameliorates Glucocorticoid‐Induced Muscle Atrophy via Remodeling the Extracellular Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glucocorticoids transcriptionally activate LCN2 expression via GR nuclear translocation. Secreted LCN2 binds MMP9 to degrade skeletal muscle ECM collagen, blocks integrin‐mediated mechanotransduction, bidirectionally disrupts muscle protein homeostasis, and reveals a novel target for steroid‐induced muscle atrophy.

Baller-Gerold syndrome: Further evidence for association with prenatal exposure to valproate

open access: yesAnnals of Indian Academy of Neurology, 2008
Baller Gerold Syndrome (BGS) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder that is apparent at birth. The disorder is characterized by distinctive malformations of the skull and facial area and bones of the forearms and hands. We are reporting a new case of BGS
