Aqueous Two‐Phase Bioinks for Discrete Packing and Compartmentalization of 3D Bioprinted Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Aqueous two‐phase systems (ATPS) enable the formation of biomimetic interfaces crucial for tissue engineering. However, clinical translation remains limited by the challenge of precisely controlling cellular compartmentalization. Here, we developed ATPS biomaterial inks for 3D bioprinting allowing tuneable droplet formation via NaCl modulation.

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Gradual diagnosis and clinical importance of prenatally detected persistent left superior vena cava with absent right superior vena cava – a case report and literature review

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasonography, 2020
Persistent left superior vena cava is a malformation of cardinal veins. We report a case of a secundigravida who had many fetal ultrasound examinations – first performed by an obstetrician (who described fetal mediastinum as “abnormal”), second by other ...

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

Clinical Significance of Abnormalities in Fetal Kidney Location or Number Diagnosed by Prenatal Ultrasound

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Obstetrics & Gynecology
Background: The abnormal position or number of fetal kidneys accounts for 15%–20% of congenital abnormalities in the fetus, often resulting in oligo amniotic fluid or no amniotic fluid, thus affecting the development of fetal lung and ...

Pregnancy and Epilepsy: Clinical Data and Adverse Outcomes of Pregnant Women with Epilepsy

open access: yesArchives of Epilepsy, 2021
Objectives:Pregnancy in women with epilepsy carries a higher risk for fetal development complications, including congenital malformations. In this study, data obtained from pregnant epilepsy patients in a tertiary epilepsy center were presented. Methods ...

Imaging of vein of Galen malformation in late trimester: Fetal MRI

open access: yes, 2022
Vein of Galen malformation is a rare congenital vascular malformation due to the maldevelopment of the embryonic precursor median vein of Markowski. It results in significant morbidity and mortality in a fetus and neonate.
