Fetal Chiari’s Type III Malformation
Pediatric Neurosurgery, 1976The morphological findings in a 4- to 5-month-old female fetus with Chiari’s type III malformation are described. This observation strongly supports the view that a defective closure of the roof plate is the primary cause of this malformation, and relates it to the Arnold-Chiari and Dandy-Walker syndromes.

Open fetal surgery for life-threatening fetal malformations
Seminars in Perinatology, 1999After more than two decades of experimental and clinical work, fetal surgery has become an accepted treatment modality for selected fetuses with life-threatening anomalies. Color Doppler ultrasound and ultrafast fetal magnetic resonance imaging have enhanced the accuracy of prenatal evaluation traditionally made by ultrasound alone.
